For most of these players, they have been able to attend camps and get a feel for the programs. Covid definitely caused some adjustments in strategy, but I think we are all learning to go with the flow. Here are some notable commits we’ve seen over the last few months and where they will be heading!
Committed to Palm Beach Atlantic rnWatching McGeehan play, she is very calm and confident at the net while making plenty of tough plays look routine. She has good court vision, knowledge, and she will be a welcome addition to the Sailfish who have a current roster with players from Oklahoma, Minnesota, Illinois, Ohio, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Florida, Alabama, Puerto Rico, Nebraska, Arkansas, and Wisconsin. I guess everyone wants to head to Florida. Before heading south, she will look to lead Totino-Grace to the X in November. Totino-Grace has a strong core of juniors returning to make 2022 their year.
Committed to MN State-Mankato rnRosenberg is a super active middle blocker in the Class of 2023 in Minnesota where she can play any position in the front row. She is tall, strong, adaptable, and I could see a future for her on the pin where she can put up a huge block. Rosenberg’s athleticism, vision, and court awareness which she has developed as a middle could really lead to her being a dynamic pin hitter. MN State – Mankato is a Division 2 school in Mankato, MN competing in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
Committed to Concordia St. Paul rnChrist brings an athletic style of play that will be a great fit for Concordia-St. Paul, who have produced some top pin hitters from within the state of MN in Jasmine Mulvihill (Lakeville) and Sophia Anderson (New Prague). The Golden Bears also have a lot of ball control coming in with the Class of 2022 recruiting class, including Minnesota’s Sieling twins. Christ has a variety of shots and puts up a big block at the net, making her dangerous from either pin.
Committed to Nova SoutheasternrnKern anticipates really well and can take pace off a hard driven attack to keep her team in-system. This past season the Milwaukee Sting 17 White squad had plenty of pins but also had very strong ball control that resulted in scoring points. I sense there will be more commits coming from this really solid Class of 2023 group from Milwaukee Sting .
Committed to ClemsonrnSimington will pave the way as the sole Minnesotan on the Clemson roster (so far) in 2023. Meanwhile, her club teammates have made verbal commitments to Oregon, Minnesota, Colorado, and Villanova. Simington has a high ceiling and a variety of ways she can score, as well as make a big impact for her team. She is not just a defensive middle, and she runs multiple routes in order to find a way to score. She really is a burst of energy for her team when she steps on the court.
