This list is compiled of top high school performers as freshmen as well as athletes who were part of successful club programs. Are there gaps in some of the information? Yes, I have some positions missing and with our program we have to have a position listed so I listed the ones I wasn’t sure of as “Outside Hitters” (After all we love to take a big swing on the outside). Since some of these players have not played at the varsity level, I was unable to track all of their high schools. Most of this information is from my notes, club websites, and rosters off of Advanced Event Systems.

What Does a Watchlist Mean?
If players are on the watchlist, they can be tagged in Prep Dig articles and are on our radar as the Class of 2025 progresses through their prep career. Freshman year or 15s year, from a Prep Dig perspective is when we start identifying players. I will have people send me information on kids who are as young as 6th and 7th grade. I draw a line where I don’t cover athletes until their freshman year or 15s year of club. There are so many great athletes at the high school level that I do not cover the younger levels (That gives me anxiety at the thought of that). The Freshman year for us is about getting names on our radar and working towards making sure the information is accurate. We update our rankings twice a year and we are always adding players to our list as we continue to watch and evaluate over the course of the high school and club season.

What Can I Do If I Need To Change Information In My Profile?
Here is a link through our customer service where we can get your profile updated whether it’s a position change, club change, etc. There are plenty of changes throughout a career, but it seems 15s to 16s year is when we see the most. Please use the link to submit any changes to the profile.
What If There Are Players That Were Missed?
We have nearly 100 players on our Watchlist, but we know there are more out there! Prep Dig Scouts will continue to evaluate and gather names. We reach out to coaches throughout the state to keep on adding names to the list as well as seeing as many matches live, along with Varsity Bound updates. What’s Next?
Keep working hard, keep getting better. A former college coach and club coach who spoke at one of our recruiting showcases gave the best advice while keeping it very simple.
“If you want to get noticed by college coaches, focus on getting better.”
At Prep Dig, we want to be the go to database for college coaches to get information from an unbiased party in regards to player evaluations and information. To my knowledge, a college coach has not given or taken away due to a Prep Dig Rankings (and if they are, thats probably a red flag for the program). We want to cover as many athletes as possible and a watchlist is a great way for us to start.
Good luck to the Iowa athletes starting their seasons! I will be back to my home state throughout the season to see some live tournaments.
And for sure I’ll see you in Cedar Rap – I mean Coralville for the state tournament!
