Brian Gibboney
Brian Gibboney brings a wealth volleyball and writing experience to Prep Dig Illinois. Gib has served in sports information offices in both Illinois and Wisconsin. Starting in the field as an Assistant at Lewis University, he moved on to Dominican University then MSOE in Milwaukee, Wis. Brian has been an honoree as a six-time American Volleyball Coaches Association Grant Burger Media Award Winner for the Midwest Region. • In nine years, had two CoSida All Academic Players of the Year, seven Academic All- Americans. He has also published six volleyball coaching articles in the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Brian Also has over 15 years of volleyball coaching experience. As an NCAA Division I assistant coach, he was part of a Rider University women’s volleyball program that held Three Northeast Conference championships from 1994-1997 and went to the NCAA tournament in 1994. He also received a Coach of the Year honor while coaching the Dominican University women’s program in 2002. In the men’s game, he coach at Milwaukee School of Engineering nine years. The Raiders won a conference title in 2010 and Brian was honored by the MIVA in 2008 with the Don Shondell award, given by the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association for excellence in promoting and supporting collegiate volleyball in the Midwest. Not only has Brian been involved in volleyball since the late 1980's, but has served the USA Volleyball High Performance boy’s volleyball pipeline from 2008 – 2013, running development tryouts and camps. Gibboney has a BS in Business Administration (98’) from Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey and currently resides in La Grange Highlands.
