Sioux Center
Class 3A State runner-up and Siouxland Conference champs, the Sioux Center Warriors have high expectations for the 2018 season. Coached by Julie Oldenkamp, the Lady Warriors posted a 9-0 conference record and 32-5 overall record, entering the 2017 State Tournament as the #1 seed. The successful program will be seeing the return of several stand-out athletes.
Makennah Traver, an uncommitted outside, will be entering her junior season for the Warriors. Named as a 2nd-Team All-Conference selection last year, the six-rotation player racked up 244 kills and 260 digs in 2017.
Returning senior and honorable mention selection, Alyssa Mulder, tallied 166 kills and 55 total blocks in 2017.
MOC-Floyd Valley
With a successful 8-1 conference record and 24-10 overall record, the MOC-Floyd Valley Dutchmen took second in the Siouxland Conference in 2017. The Lady Dutchmen are coached by Kate Boersma.
Jadeyn Schutt, an uncommitted senior, will lead the Lady Dutchmen offense this fall. The 1st Team All-Conference selection who posted 609 assists last season will be competing on the Iowa High Performance Women’s Juniors team at the end of July in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Zoe Heemstra will be entering her final season with the MOC-FV program this fall. The 2017 3rd Team All-Conference selection led her team in kills last year with 189 and also recorded 218 digs.
Jazlin De Haan will be entering her sophomore season for the Dutchmen. The young outside was a six-rotation player last year, racking up 179 kills and 174 digs.
Sheldon
Capping off the 2017 season with a 21-14 overall record, the Sheldon Orabs took third place in the Siouxland Conference with a 7-2 record. The Lady Orabs are coached by Eric Maassen.
Mary Margaret Boer is a versatile six-rotation player entering her senior season as an Orab. The 2017 2nd Team All-Conference selection was second on the team in kills last season, with 155, and third in digs with 158.
More senior leadership returning is libero Cassidy Bart. Tabbed on the All-Conference 3rd Team last season, the defensive specialist totaled 310 digs.
