One team that really stuck out to me was Divine Savior Holy Angels, and when my research showed that none were committed to play at the next level, I had to double check with Chris. This couldn’t be true! So much athleticism and smart volleyball players. Any program would be smart to check out these Dashes. And maybe a major television network may want to think about a new reality show, “Dashers’ Got Talent.” Let’s take a look at a few of the Dashers!
Aly Larcheid Aly Larcheid 6'1" | MB DSHA | 2019 State WI – 2019 – 6’0 – Middle Blocker
Larcheid is like the gate keeper. She decides what is worthy of crossing the net or not. Larcheid is a workhorse and doesn’t stop until she has closed every block humanly possible. She runs great routes and also transitions nicely into a really strong tempo ball attack.
Rachel Roberts Rachel Roberts 6'0" | S DSHA | 2020 State WI – 2020 – 6’1 – Right Side
Roberts is a go-to player. When you want the ball put away, you set her, done. She is athletic, takes heavy swings, and sees the court really well.
Anna Myklebust Anna Myklebust 5'11" | S DSHA | 2019 State WI – 2019 – 6’1 – Setter
Myklebust moves really well; you wouldn’t guess she is one of those tall girls. She has really nice hands, good set selection, very athletic, and has a wicked float serve. Myklebust and Larcheid put up a scary big block.
Jacque Stegmeyer – 2021 – 5’10 – Outside Hitter
Stegmeyer has a nice high swing that gets over some of the tallest blocks. One thing that really caught my eye is how she took care of the corners while playing defense in middle back. She had defensive moves like a defensive specialist.
Elizabeth Organ Elizabeth Organ 5'7" | S DSHA | 2019 State WI – 2019 – 5’7 – Setter
One word for Organ… sneaky. She sees her blockers and pays attention to the defense, and if there are any cheaters breaking from base early, she picks just the right time to make her move and catch them with a setter dump. She demonstrates a high volleyball IQ with set selection and dump timing.
