The list of teams here have all found themselves in the rankings somewhere along the way, along with one of the best kept secrets in SWCHA which stands for Southeast Wisconsin Christian Homeschool Athletics. This team competes in the National HomeSchool Christian Championships which this year will be held in Wichita, KS. The Saints finished last year third in the national tournament last year and with the lineup they have this year and tough schedule against some of Wisconsin’s best they will be looking for some hardware.

For some of the teams listed, it kind of depends what team shows up and what the matchup is. Starting from the top at Waukesha West, the Wolverines blitzed through summer tournaments and had big expectations heading into 2018. With a record of 29-10, the Wolverines have a tough conference schedule in itself with Oconomowoc, Arrowhead, Mukwonago, and Catholic Memorial. They will have Mukwonago in their sectional this year in which Mukwonago came out of that sectional last year to go to state.
There is a Fox Valley flavor here as well. Kimberly is a notch just above Neenah, who is making a comeback after getting two time all state player Addison Barnes back from injury, Little Chute is 33-1 with their only loss coming to Kimberly, and to add to the group is Appleton North. The Lightning have played Kimberly and Neenah tight this year, but lost in four in conference play, but have had big wins over Waukesha West, DSHA, and Sun Prairie. Sun Prairie is an electric team to watch play with their outside hitters Karlie “KJ” McNabb, a Loyola commit in the Class of 2020 and Payton Addink, a 2021 outside hitter who is developing into your prototypical Division 1 outside hitter. The Cardinals just squeaked out a conference victory against Verona in five sets, which they will be bound to see each other again in their conference tournament or even their sectional tournament.
In the Milwaukee area and in Southeast Wisconsin, there is Kettle Moraine Lutheran, Catholic Memorial, Wisconsin Lutheran all out of D2 and all in the same sectional. Catholic Memorial has been number one most of the season, but had a couple losses this past weekend at the Westosha Central Slam. Kettle Moraine Lutheran has two losses to Catholic Memorial, but most recently won the Neenah tournament defeating Neenah twice and Appleton North. Wisconsin Lutheran is a team that you don’t want to play. They are gritty, scrappy, and relentless on defense. Brookfield Central, Sussex Hamilton, Greendale, and Lake Country Lutheran have been beating up on each other all season. Many of their athletes play club together and know each other’s tendencies all too well. Brookfield Central and Sussex Hamilton have plenty of youth on their team and will be dangerous in the next couple of years.
Westosha Central and Union Grove have had great seasons behind solid setting in Kennedy Muff at Westosha Central and Karlee Lois at Union Grove. Both are incredibly athletic and physical players who can do a little bit of everything their team from finding the open hitter, being offensive, and playing solid defense. These two teams will be matched up against Burlington in their sectional, but another team to keep tabs on would be Milton who is currently at 29-7.
SPASH has a record of 31-2, with 8 Seniors on the roster, the Panthers have the leaderships, depth, and athleticism to win close games. Their only two losses are to Clayton and Bay Port. Tuesday night will be a high powered match up against Wausau West who has a record of 24-3. SPASH defeated Wausau West earlier in the month 3-2.
Seeding meetings are going on over the next few days. Brackets should be released by the end of the week!
