This group of talented athletes has made a name for themselves, both local and in the national homeschool network. This local homeschool team is unique in that they compete in local high school volleyball tournaments and travel across the country to compete regionally and nationally with other homeschool teams, all in the same approximate 8-week span that all other high school volleyball teams in Wisconsin play during.
This team won their national championship this year; a really big deal. But before they got to that tournament they had some other big wins under their belt. They won both their preseason tournament and the Chaos in Kolf tournament hosted by UW-Oshkosh. Then they went on to take third at both the Catholic Memorial and Germantown Invites. They also won their Wisconsin Homeschool Conference and the Midwest Championships.
Last year the team earned 3rd place in their national tournament, an amazing achievement in itself. This year though, they were in it to win it and didn’t drop a single set the entire tournament.
Senior Kierra Koepke was named to the All-Tournament Team at the National Homeschool Volleyball Tournament. During this past season, she had an amazing impact on the success of her team. She led the team in kills (443) and aces (154). She also contributed 502 digs (#2 on the team) and 253 service receptions.
Junior Skylar Kumprey has an amazing vertical and plays very smart. She was #2 in kills this season for the Saints with 298. She is a great all-around athlete who contributed a fair number of digs, blocks, aces, and service receptions as well.
Junior Kyah Golding (Prep Dig Rank #75) racked up some amazing blocking statistics. She had 159 total blocks throughout the season with 134 of them being solo blocks. Kyah also contributed 226 kills and had one of the highest hitting percentages on her team.
Senior Libero Toria Schein has had an amazing career with the Saints. She has clocked in over 1,200 digs and 1,000 service receptions in the last two seasons. She also had 86 aces this season. Toria is a great leader and a fierce defender of her backcourt.
Sophomore setter Chloee Epker (Prep Dig Rank #71) has been on varsity for the last two years. She already has 1,401 assists, 131 aces, 74 blocks, and 274 digs in her short career for the saints. She is bound to be a great leader in her next two years.
Chloee actually was injured partially through the season and junior Sophia Zyzo stepped in to set. She had 425 assists this season and did a great job playing whatever role was needed of her as the season went on.
This SWCHA team is extremely talented. They have worked hard and developed a great reputation both within the Milwaukee area and on a regional and national level. For many of their players, this is just the start of very promising athletic careers.
