All Expo Team, Classes of 2021 and 2022!
The turnout for the classes of 2021 and 2022 at the Prep Dig Top 250 Expo was truly amazing. So many aspiring collegiate athletes dedicated to their dreams even as freshman and sophomores in high school. The talent level was strong and there was an electric intensity on the courts.
When the athletes were split by position, it was sometimes hard to tell their ages without having to look them up. The athletes who played in the expo all had something to offer and many had truly amazing form and skill.
Here is the All Expo Team I have put together for the Prep Dig Top 250 Expo:
Claire Ammeraal, Setter, Class of 2022, Madison Lafollette, Capital Volleyball Academy :
This 6′ setter has a 25.5” vertical and knows how to command the court. She is extremely hard to read and consistently puts the ball where it needs to go. I never would have guessed she was a freshman when I saw her at the expo. Not only was Claire the top setter in her class, but one of the top 3 setters at the entire expo.
Josie Halbleib, Setter, Class of 2021, Sun Prairie, Capital Volleyball Academy :
Another Capital Volleyball Academy athlete that was truly impressive. This sophomore tracks the ball well and has quick, soft hands. She has a natural court awareness and reads the ball extremely well. Josie is consistent and plays defense extremely well. She was fun to watch and is an extremely talented athlete.
Brianna Cantrell, Outside Hitter, Class of 2022, Appleton North, FC Elite:
Brianna was one of the first athletes that caught my eye, but it wasn’t even when she was swinging, it was with her serve. She has a powerful and aggressive serve that was nearly unstoppable by those she was playing against. This freshman also clocked the highest vertical at the expo with an amazing 29.1-inch vertical. Brianna is only just getting started in what is sure to be an extremely successful volleyball career.
Lizzie Binder, Outside Hitter, Class of 2021, Sheboygan North, Milwaukee Sting:
This 6’2” outside hitter is a force to be reckoned with. She makes even the most challenging of shots seem easy and has a confidence and ease around her play. Lizzie works extremely hard on the court and makes plays happen that are amazing. She even hopped in and set a bit during the expo when it was needed! Talk about a great leader and team player.
Jordan Berglin, Outside Hitter, Class of 2021, Pewaukee High School, Midwest Penguins:
Jordan’s insanely high vertical and powerful swing makes her a powerhouse hitter. She was in the top 5 highest verticals at the Prep Dig Top 250 Expo with a 28” vert. Jordan is fast and transitions well. She also puts up a great block and if you ever see her pound a ball, you will definitely stop to watch more!
Lindsay Krznarich, Middle Blocker, Class of 2021, Arrowhead Union, Milwaukee Sting:
Lindsay’s amazing timing really stood out to me as I was walking around. She was able to connect with setters instantaneously and ran great plays off of setters who she had never worked with before. Lindsay has a ton of potential and is definitely an athlete to watch.
Monica LaFleur, Middle Blocker, Class of 2021, Arrowhead Union, Milwaukee Sting:
A high school and club teammate to Lindsay, Monica is also an extremely talented athlete. She is extremely fast in transition and has a lot of power. She also put up a consistent block and works well with the pin hitters on defense. Her speed at the net is a huge asset to this young middle blocker.
Kourtney Wollner, Libero/DS, Class of 2021, Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School:
What stood out to me about Kourtney is her amazing abilities in serve receive. She reacts fast to serves and gets her body around the ball well. Kourtney has a strong platform and succeeds on the court!
Robyn Kirsch, Outside Hitter/DS, Class of 2021, Wausau West, Wisconsin Ice:
I don’t think there was a single ball that Robyn didn’t get a touch on. She was fast, gritty, and worked hard to get every ball up. Robyn is a great all-around athlete who really excelled in passing at the expo.
That is my All Expo Team for the freshman and sophomores who attend the Prep Dig Top 250 Expo! There were a ridiculous number of talented athletes to choose from and each of them brought a unique aspect to the expo.
