With ages 11-14 competing in Milwaukee and 15-18 in Minneapolis, there will be plenty of athletes to take a look at, starting with those who are committed to college programs. Here are some of the top committed athletes to watch in the 17 Open Division.
Kiara Reinhardt and Elise Goetzinger – Milwaukee Sting 17 Gold
Reinhardt committed to Creighton
Goetzinger committed to Kentucky (Title Picture)
Reinhardt and Goetzinger are two of the top middle blockers in Wisconsin. These two have been a constant force for Sing 17 Gold the past two seasons. Reinhardt commands the net like a middle linebacker with a knack for reading the setter, anticipating what is coming next, beating the ball to the spot. Goetzinger is so tough when she is running a slide, she attacks with such authority and physicality that she is extremely terminal whenever she swings. Reinhardt will be heading to Creighton and Goetzinger to Kentucky.
Cianna Selbitscka – Kokoro 17-1
Committed to Minnesota-Duluth
Selbitschka is committed along with teammate Maddi Kealy to Minnesota-Duluth, a top Division 2 program that is always at the top of the Northern Sun Conference. Selbitschka had a legendary performance enroute to a Class AA title for North Branch where she had 30 plus kill in the quarterfinals and semifinals and 25 kills in the championship. Selbitschka is one of the top outside hitters in Minnesota in all classes.
Ella Collins – Milwaukee Sting 17 Black
Committed to Eastern Illinois
Collins is one of the newest commits from Milwaukee Sting, committing to Eastern Illinois the first week of May. An outside hitter who hits a heavy ball all over the court, she is one of the big point scorers for Sting 17 Black who also has Bemidji State commit Maddie Weyker on the pin and Izzy Schauer who will be setting at Belmont.

Milla Malik – Capital 17 Adidas
Karlie McNabb – Capital 17 Adidas
Malik committed to Buffalo
McNabb committed to Loyola-Chicago
“McMalik”, like every famous duo there’s a nickname. Capital Volleyball Academy comes out of the Madison area where Malik preps at Waunakee High School and McNabb for Sun Prairie, the path to state goes through each other with Mallik winning in 2017 and McNabb winning in 2018. These athletes play with great body language, energy, and a smile that gets their team rolling. Mallik has an incredibly fast arm swing where she uses the block to her advantage and McNabb is a high flyer and really solid middle back defender where she has incredible court vision. She will be playing against her future teammate in Emily Banitt of Kokoro who has also committed to Loyola-Chicago.

Molly Schultz – MN Select 17-1
Committed to Kansas
Schultz and her MN Select squad is comprised of some of the top players in Minnesota, along with Halle Olson, the outside hitter committed to Florida Atlantic from River Falls, WI. Schultz has a lot of athleticism where she can make some plays out of nowhere, yet at the same time plays under control giving a solid first contact to get the offense rolling.
Kali Wolf – Northern Lights 17-1
Committed to New Mexico
Solid in all six rotations, Wolf is one of the newer commits having gave her verbal to play at New Mexico when she is done with her prep career. One of Wolf’s biggest strengths is just how natural the game comes to her with a high volleyball IQ. She will be the third Wolf sister to play Division 1 volleyball with her two older sisters Taylor and Jessica being a part of Green Bay’s 2018 NCAA Tournament team. Along with her high volleyball IQ, she is incredibly solid in serve receive and has quite the selection of shots.
Kate Neill – MN Select 17-2
Committed to UT-Chattanooga
Kate Neill is 6’2 and can play out of the middle or on the right side. A rising prospect, Neill has given her verbal to play for the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. A high touch and her ability to attack off of one foot on the slide will transfer really well to the next level.
