Setters
Abby Hammerberg – Warrenton
Hammerberg has done an outstanding job quarterbacking the Warrior offensive as a sophomore, averaging 7.25 assists per set. She has really come on of late, averaging ten assists per set against Herculaneum and eight assists per set against a cross-county rival Wright City. Look for Hammerberg to be a huge factor for Warrenton this weekend.
Mackenna Rodgers – St. James
Rodgers returns to the St. James lineup in 2019 after an all-conference effort in her sophomore season. In 2019, Rodgers has is averaging 5.6 assists per set for the Tigers.
Ella Swindle – Rockbridge
Swindle – courtesy of KC Power VolleyballElla Swindle is pretty accomplished for being just a freshman. In 2018, she was part of the USA Select A1 National Training Program. In her first season as Rockbridge’s setter, she is fitting in just fine; averaging nine assists per set and already has 242 assists. Oh – she also has 29 kills, 24 aces and 83 digs. It’s safe to say she’s doing okay in her first year of high school volleyball.
Defensive Specialists/Liberos
Alyssa Bruce/Kate Kilpatrick – Warrenton
Bruce has made an impact immediately as a freshman. The Libero leads the teams in digs with 129, in serve receive with 173. She has also been effective behind the service line with 16 aces. Kilpatrick has demonstrated great senior leadership from the defensive specialist position. She’s second on the team with 20 aces – she had five aces in 14 tries to open the season against Bowling Green to open the season and averages 1.5 digs per set.
Cassie Gray – Rockbridge
Gray has put together a nice junior season for Rockbridge, leading the team in digs with 126 in 29 sets played for an average of 4.3 per set. She had 16 digs in a 2-1 win against Fatima on Monday. The defensive specialist also leads her team in serve receptions with 77.
Hannah Hedrick – Waynesville
Hedrick has been a steady hand for Waynesville this season. The Tigers lost five seniors in 2019 to graduation and the libero has helped the Tigers retain some consistency, averaging 4.6 digs per set. The senior also has 60 serve receptions in seven sets played.
