Looking ahead, let’s see the player’s that make the difference for these teams as they prep for states.
#12, Taylor Jakubowski, 2020, S, Huntley
In an early tournament match, hitters went right after her, defensively. A tip to Taylor, she picks it up. HIt deep at Taylor, she nails the pass. The bench was going crazy! She is athletically sound and plays with that Senior Swagger! She’s also the Prepdig.com top setter in her class.
#17, Emma Konie, 2021, 5’10, OH Huntley, Sky High VBC, Seton Hall
Here’s a student-athlete that play’s above the net. When Emma is making her approach, she looks like she’s gliding. Runsa multiple patterns of attack and they all seem to work.
#21, Allyson Panzloff, 2023, 5’11, RS, Huntley, uncommitted
Only a freshman, Allyson is the future of Huntley. In her first varsity season Allyson provides a much needed right side block, who also brings an ability to score when needed.
#5, Hattie Monson, 2020, 5’6, L, Benet, Sports Performance VBC, Notre Dame
This past weekend seemed tough on her as she had some uncharacteristic service errors earlier in the day. She is still my number one player in the state going into the IHSA State Playoffs. Hattie had 15 service points in the two-set final win.
#18 Rachel Musienga, 2021, 6’1, S, Benet,
Adversity
VBC, Penn State
Easily one of the top setters in the state, Rachel can set the ball from anywhere on the court. Looking to take her skills to PSU in 2022, the Nittany Lions could have themselves a four-year starter.
#21 Sophie Gregus, 2020, 6’1, OH, Benet,
Adversity
VBC, Illinois
Out of serve receive, Sophie gets the ball when Benet needs a kill. For a taller outside playing the back row she passes like a DS. The Illini will be lucky to have her next season.
