Kandi Elite, FC Elite – Two States, Common Connections Commit To Prep Dig Events in 2020
With Prep Dig Events expanding to six tournaments in 2020, some top teams are joining the party with Kandi Elite (MN) and FC Elite (WI). Two top programs with plenty of commonalities.
Kandi Elite comes out of the Willmar, MN area where they have been producing some top talent, filling the rosters throughout the NSIC, the best D2 conference in the country. They will be bringing their program to the Minneapolis Meltdown on March 28-29, 2020. In their Class of 2019, they have three athletes committed to schools in the NSIC with setter Makayla Snow out of BOLD High School heading to Northern State in Aberdeen, South Dakota – currently ranked #6 in NCAA D2 along with Ellie Danielson of Minnewaska will be heading to Minnesota State-Mankato and Alexis Pew going to MSU-Moorhead.
Kandi Elite (Kandi coming from Kandiyohi County in Minnesota) has a really strong Class of 2021 with three Division 1 commits that include Abby Stark, Ashlynn Olson, and Elizabeth Dille. Stark is one of the top liberos out of the Class of 2021 in Minnesota and made her commit to North Dakota State early this summer. In the past two weeks Olson and Dille have made their commits with Olson, a really athletic right side heading to North Dakota as well, committing to the UND in Grand Forks. Dille is an athletic and long six rotation pin hitter who committed to Green Bay this past weekend. Green Bay is part of the Horizon League conference and is the reigning conference champion competing in the NCAA Tournament last season.

FC Elite comes from the Appleton, Wisconsin area (Fox Cities) and will be starting their season at the Prep Dig Resolution Tournament on January 4-5 at the new Community Fox Cities Champion Center (To Read More On the FC Champion Center Click HERE). FC Elite is under the direction of Brett Damrow who will be in his first year and is looking to continue their success from last season with their 14s-17s qualifying for USAV Nationals in the National Division and their 18s competing at USAV 18 Open.
The Class of 2021 for FC Elite has plenty of connections to Kandi Elite with some of their athletes being future teammates.
Brooke Bolwerk is a top setter in Wisconsin out of the Class of 2021 and has already given her verbal to Minnesota State-Mankato at the end of her Sophomore year. She is currently one of the setters for Appleton North who recently won the FVA Conference title and a top seed in their section. She will be joining Ellie Danielson of Kandi Elite in Mankato. Cora Behnke and Natalie Johanknecht are two athletes from FC Elite’s Class of 2021 that have given their verbal to Green Bay. Cora Behnke is an outside with a big swing and is really solid in the backrow where Johanknecht plays out of the middle and is so dynamic at the net with her ability to run the slide and get from pin to pin closing the block.
