Now it is time to highlight the setters, defensive specialist and liberos we think will be a cut above the rest on Saturday. The Bishop LeBlond tournament is one with some tough teams and will go a long way in strengthening a team’s resolve coming into district play later this month.

Setters
Rylee Benight – Savannah
The group of setters in this tournament is particularly strong. You could have picked any starting setter for any team and felt good about it. Benight has been superb for Savannah this season. The junior is averaging nearly ten assists per set and has had stellar performances of late, including 28 and 25 assists, respectively, in big wins over Lawson and Maryville.
Jessie Humbird – Midway
Humbird has put together a really nice season at the setter position for Midway, averaging 7.1 assists per set. The junior hit the 300 assists mark for the year on Thursday in a win against Lakeland. She also has 28 aces and 101 digs for the Vikings.

What can you say about Kenna O’Riley except that she has been awesome for Bishop LeBlond in her career? She has followed up her Class 2 All-State junior season with another great year. The senior is averaging 7.7 assists per set, including a monster match against East Buchanan on Monday, where she had 31 assists, 13 digs and two aces.
Defensive Specialists. Liberos
Adara Chilcoat – Lafayette
Chilcoat is coming off a 2018 season in which she was an all-conference pick for the Irish. Lafayette’s record 7-7 record is deceiving in that the team has had back-and-forth battles with the likes of Maryville, St. Pius and Bishop LaBlond. Chilcoat leads the team in digs.
Jenna Engelhard – Oak Grove
Engelhard is having a solid senior season for the Panthers. The libero is averaging 5.1 digs per set, including a 24-dig performance in a win against Crest Ridge. She also has 234 serve receptions this season, a team best. Engelhard is a three-sport athlete, doubling as the Panthers’ point guard on the basketball team and is participates in long jump in track.
Gabby Vigliaturo – Bishop LaBlond
Vigliaturo has really turned it on of late defensively for the Eagles. The senior had 35 digs in a win against East Buchanan on Monday. She, along with Chilcoat, were all-MEC Liberos in 2018. In 2019, she is averaging 4.5 digs per set.
