CARLY MARSHALL, Norfolk Catholic, 10.2 assists/set
*OWH Honorable Mention All-State
Coach Michaela Bellar: When I first came to NC, we didn’t have too many options at the setting position so I had asked Carly if she would like to give it a try. Ever since then she has worked really hard at the setting position and has been very coachable as it is not an easy position to play. This year we really wanted to focus on our passing and being aggressive hitters. I think we did a great job at doing these things, which then helped make Carly’s job a little easier and she was more comfortable and confident setting whoever on the floor. Carly has really improved from her sophomore to junior year. I am really excited to see how she improves for her senior year!
Reese Janssen #14, Columbus Lakeview
REESE JANSSEN, Columbus Lakeview, 9.2 assists/set
*LJS Honorable Mention All-State
Coach K.C. Belitz: Reese is a 3-time letter-winner. She brings effort and toughness to practice and matches. She is going to re-write the record books at Lakeview, already sitting 1st all-time in assists and set attempts and top 5 in setting efficiency. She had 830 assists this season, often getting her hitters a 1-on-1. Despite the standard she set last year, she got even better this year. This season she was at 99.3% setting, which puts her 1st all-time. For this year that equated to just 18 errors on 2518 attempts. She also led her team in serving points. scored and aces, and was 2nd in digs…which is pretty unique for a setter. She will demand excellence of herself and her team next year, and that’s going to drive us to achieve our full potential in every match because she won’t accept anything less.
KATIE NELSON, DC West, 8.8 assists/set
*Club Legacy 17 Ren
*LJS Honorable Mention All-State

Coach Courtney VanGroningen: Halle did a great job stepping into the setter role for the Rockets this season. She used her court smarts to move the ball around found ways to feed the hot hands. She put our hitters in good positions to get kills. She ended the season ranking 3rd all-time on the record board with assists in a match with 53.

PAYTON ANDEL, David City, 7.9 assists/set
