The 17 team out of the Union Volleyball Club is expected to contend for championships throughout the 2020 season.
Here are five Union Volleyball Club 17s to watch.
Jordan Atchison: The versatile Atchison delivered for 8th Region champion North Oldham throughout the 2019 high school season, helping to lead the squad on an exceptional postseason run. The 5-11 junior outside hitter registered 206 digs, 90 kills, 29 aces and 12 aces in the 2019 prep campaign.
Eleanor Beavin: A 5-6 junior libero from Mercy Academy, Beavin has committed to the University of Kentucky. The back-to-back KVCA Defensive Player of the Year, Beavin registered 679 digs, 116 assists, 89 aces and 22 kills for 6th Region champion Mercy during the 2019 high school season. Along with Kentucky, Beavin has received recruiting interest from many additional top college volleyball programs.
Emma Kaelin: A 5-10 junior setter from Providence High School (Indiana), Kaelin has committed to Missouri Valley Conference member Indiana State University. A proven leader for her talent-heavy high school team, Kaelin exited the 2019 high school season with 1,040 assists.
Lucy Malone: One of the top players for Sacred Heart Academy, Malone was consistent throughout the 2019 high school season. A 5-4 junior defensive specialist/libero, Malone recorded 203 digs, 26 assists and 10 aces for Sacred Heart Academy in the 2019 prep campaign.
Lijia Williams: A six-foot junior middle blocker from Rock Creek Academy (Indiana), Williams excelled during the 2019 high school season, posting 422 kills, 92 blocks and 54 aces over 97 sets. A versatile performer, Williams has played multiple positions throughout her volleyball career.
