With Athleticism and explosive play, we look to the setters to make things happen for the top programs. Without their skill and innate ability to get into position and set the ball precisely where it needs to be, the hitters wouldn’t strive for success nearly as often as they do.
Here are setters to follow in the Windy City Power League:
Player, Year, Position, High School, Club, College Commitment
Katie Linning, 2022, S, Willowbrook, 1st Alliance 16 Black
Katie has a quality set of hands, good ball placement and great setter energy. Plays with a team that allows her to shine among some of the brightest stars in the 16 age group. Great floor General.
Marina Gronkiewicsz, 2022, RS, S, Munster, IN, 1st Alliance 16 Black
Another one in a line of great setters coming out of 1st Alliance, Marina brings an air of confidence to the court.
Ava Schabes, 2023, S, OH, Whitney Young, 1st Alliance 16 Silver
Ava can both bring the heat as a hitter and a soft touch-it-up with a delicate set.
Caroline Macander, 2022, S, Mother McAuley, Michio 16 National
Caroline brings experience from the Mighty Mac’s nationally recognized high school program to the Michio program. Look for this skilled setter to lead them to the top of the league.
Dorville Gorys, 2022, S, Lockport, Michio 16 National
After completing a successful high school season, Dorville is growing on the club circuit getting an opportunity to find success on the regional and national levels.
Rian Baker, 2022, S, Fremd, Sky High Adidas 16 Black
Having played on both the state high school and national club stage, Rian brings all the materials you want in a setter. Great hands, good court sense and an athletic ability to get the job done.
