ROUND 1
MIDDLES
Alexis Markowski, 2021, Lincoln Pius X Vs Shayla Meyer Shayla Meyer 6'1" | OH Superior | 2022 State #185 Nation NE , 2022, Superior
Alexis Markowski – As a South Dakota State basketball recruit, the 6’3 Markowski is another prep multi-sport athlete. Suffering injuries her freshman season, Markowski has made steady improvement each year hitting .357 with 234 kills and 139 blocks (wow!) in 2019. The Bolts have seen the state tournament each year since 2016 with a runner up in 2018. With a steady stream of talent, look for the Bolts to make another run at the title in 2020.
Shayla Meyer Shayla Meyer 6'1" | OH Superior | 2022 State #185 Nation NE – Fortunate for opponents that Superior graduates one Meyer sister, but unfortunate for them that sophomore Shayla has two seasons left on the high school volleyball scene. As a 6 rotation player, 6’1 Shayla has been solid her first two seasons after 462 kills at .374, 50 blocks, 49 ace serves, 329 digs, and 404 serve receptions in 2019. With state experience, the Wildcats will look to make it into the postseason in 2020.
PIN HITTERS
Lindsey Krause, 2021, Omaha Skutt Catholic Vs Mya Larson Mya Larson 5'11" | OH Wahoo | 2022 State #168 Nation NE , 2022, Wahoo
Our #1 players in the 2021 and 2022 classes and top teams in Classes B & C1.
Lindsey Krause – Anyone else excited to see this player in Husker red? Krause and the Skutt Catholic Skyhawks have won the Class B championship since 2015. Each year they have had exceptional teams and players, but the 6’3 junior stands out with her 18U USA Team World Championship in Egypt in 2019. Krause averaged 5.4 kills per set while hitting .418. Pictured above.
[player_tooltip player_id="37530" first="Mya" last="Larson"], Wahoo.Mya Larson Mya Larson 5'11" | OH Wahoo | 2022 State #168 Nation NE – The footwork and timing comes naturally to this 5’10 sophomore. Larson averaged 6.6 kills/set at a .381 clip along with 46 aces, 4.0 digs/set, and 4.3 serve receptions/set. Along with two stellar high school seasons, the Warriors had a state championship in 2018 and a third-place finish in 2019. Graduating two seniors, the Warriors will be in contention for another state appearance.
