Here are six underrated Northeastern Kentucky eighth graders.
Amelia Bowers: An eighth grade middle blocker/opposite hitter, Bowers was a versatile young player for Johnson Central during the 2019 high school volleyball season. The versatile Bowers elevated consistently as a middle blocker while hitting strong from the left side as an opposite hitter. Continuing to show improvement in multiple categories, Bowers is competing for Bluegrass Volleyball Academy of Eastern Kentucky 16U in the 2020 club season.
Audrey Biggs: An eighth grade middle blocker/outside hitter/opposite hitter, Biggs appeared in 32 of 35 matches for Boyd County during the 2019 high school volleyball season. One of the most underrated eighth graders in the state, Biggs thrives hitting from both sides and is provides a strong presence in the middle.
Sydney Clark: An eighth grade defensive specialist/outside hitter, Clark chipped in for Boyd County throughout the 2019 prep season. Showing her versatility for Boyd County, Clark fared well both offensively and defensively in 2019. Clark is stellar in serve receive and provides quality passes to teammates.
Carleigh Conley: An eighth grade setter, Conley contributed for Fairview throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season. Appearing in nearly half of her prep team’s matches in 2019, Conley, a quick decision maker, displayed the ability to multi-task and make precise passes.
Mayson DeLong: An eighth grade middle blocker/outside hitter, DeLong was a key contributor for Johnson Central in 2019. DeLong delivered for Johnson Central as a middle blocker but also displayed the ability to hit from the right side as an outside hitter. DeLong provides accurate swings and covers other hitters well.
Jenna Jordan: An eighth grade outside hitter, Jordan chipped in for West Carter throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season. Jordan helped West Carter capture the 62nd District championship and reach the 16th Region Volleyball Tournament Semifinals in 2019. An athletic outside hitter, Jordan is a solid hitter from the right side.
