Cronin is a big reason why Medord has emerged as a formidable opponent on the high school scene in recent years. Although goofy-footed in her approach footwork, Cronin is very effective from that position offensively. She has a heavy arm and can terminate the ball with power off the block or with pace to get the ball to the floor with authority. She also has good court awareness as she approaches, which allows for good range. She will continue into her senior season as the primary option for Medford and will see a lot of attacking opportunities. She is aggressive and confident, which if that transfers to the rest of her team then Medford might be able to make another deep run at the state tournament.

– 5’9 | L | HS: Chanhassen | Club: M1 | Prep Dig #32
Ellman is a gem at the libero position. She tracks the ball efficiently and has great platform work that is simple and gets her team in-system often. She has good preparation and makes great adjustments on the move to create the right angles. Defensively, she brings that simplicity to this facet as well with good vision and patience and is very effective in her read-to-reaction. She also does the intangibles as good as anyone from this role through her communication and effort, by supporting her attackers well with deliberate coverage, and also delivering a hittable ball through an out-of-system second contact. This class has great liberos and Ellman should be in that conversation.

– 6’0 | OH | HS: St. Louis Park | Club: Northern Lights | Prep Dig #35
Howell has continued to show her value as a primary attacker as she can hammer the ball. She was a key reason for St. Louis Park’s state tournament appearance last fall and she should have them competing at the same level once again this year. She has great experience and the accolades to prove it as an all-conference selection in high school and as an AAU all-American in 2019. Howell works hard in her approach work as she has great momentum build to the ball and is aggressive in her lift and arm work. She creates good torque and can swing through the full range of the floor for points. She will be a great addition at the next level.

Forest Lake | 2021
State
MN
– 6’1 | MB | HS: Forest Lake | Club: Kokoro | Prep Dig #39
A Suburban East all-conference honorable mention selection in 2019, the Forest Lake product should again earn postseason accolades in 2020 given her improvement in the middle. She has good size and physicality offensively that includes a strong arm. Her movement around the floor is fluid in all facets, including transition to attack work as well as in her blocking through both pins. She identifies the ball well throughout point flow and makes herself available to the needs of the play. She can score through multiple attack points on offense in addition to filling up good space at the tape on defense. A more dynamic and deliberate first step will improve her effectiveness going forward. She has potential to keep rising her stock. Her impact for Forest Lake this next fall will be a big indicator of her value and potential as they lost a lot from their senior-laden roster.

Stewartville | 2021

MN
– 6’0 | OH/MH | HS: Stewartville | Club: SMV | Prep Dig #39
Stecher should see her role and impact increase for Stewartville following the departure of a key pin attacker to graduation. She played her part well though in 2019 as the Tigers claimed the 2019 class 2A state title after sitting among the elite teams at the top of the state rankings for the bulk of the season. This team returns some heavy power with Stecher among that core of veterans. She brings good athleticism and versatility to the court, along with good size at 6’0. She has good passing skills and can score from both the middle and pins and will certainly see an uptick in her offensive opportunities this coming high school season, most likely at the pins primarily. She also has good blocking prowess as she gets off the floor quickly with fast hands across the tape. Look for Stecher and her Stewartville teammates to be in the headlines again throughout the 2020 high school season.
