Comments from Coach Katie Wright:
Area Most Improved in 2019
Her leadership abilities greatly improved over the year.
Volleyball technique
Ava is an incredibly well-rounded player, especially in the front row. She can be utilized in nearly any position and do it well.
Work ethic or drive for volleyball
Ava is a leader in the weight room and on the court. She models a great work ethic and pushes her teammates to be their best as well.
Role model on the team and in the community
Ava leads by example on the court, the classroom, and the community. She helps with many unified events at our school. She is the first to step up when asked to do something. She is a positive influence to her teammates and brings a lightness to the court as well as a fierce competitiveness.
Team insight
Our team was small overall. Talented but small. Our team was made up of well rounded players, not necessarily stand out players. Ava decided to step up into the leadership role because she wanted to take us to the next level. We needed a leader willing to take that step. This team was able to rise to her level when needed and work through adversity when we got down.

Comments from Coach Clancy Hammond:
Area Most Improved in 2019
Peyton improved in her defensive skills. She reads the hitter well to set the block, and has greatly improved her offside block court vision.
Volleyball technique
Peyton’s quick touch on the ball makes her the highlight of every officiating crew we have had in the last season. After almost every match, one or both officials have commented on how quick her release is. This also helps to make her sets so consistent for our hitters to receive a hittable ball every time.
Work ethic or drive for volleyball
Peyton not only works hard in our weight room, when we work together as a team, but she also pushes herself individually as she puts in time on her own. She goes to every camp, shows up for every open gym, and puts herself in situations with other elite athletes where she must work hard to make herself stand out in the group.
Role model on the team and in the community
Peyton has a been in a leadership role on our varsity team since her Freshmen year. She encourages others to work hard, be mentally tough, and perform to their best ability. She also demonstrates her leadership off the court as a member of Student Council, National Honor Society, Key Club and track.
Team insight
Going into our 2020 Season our chemistry will be a huge factor in how we compete. With 9 returning Seniors, and 7 returning Letter Winners, they know each other well. The team will bring a lot of experience and leadership to the court.
What is one characteristic you could give this player?
I wish I could give Peyton the confidence that I have in her. She is an incredible player, whether she is setting or hitting. She has the ability to do what the team needs her to do at all times, and she always wants to know how to do it better. Not many great players have that degree of humility.
LIBEROS
Ellie Miller, Marian Vs Estella Zatechka Estella Zatechka 5'8" | DS/L Elkhorn South | 2022 State #54 Nation NE , Elkhorn South
⇒ ELLIE MILLER, 2022, Uncommitted
Comments from Nebraska Juniors Coach Katie Wenz:
Ellie has been one of our most consistent passers this season. She pushes herself in practice and in competition. Ellie has a good knowledge of the game and knows her position well. One of the nice things about Ellie is she is able to play different base positions in the back row and doesn’t hesitate if we have to change her base position on the court. Because of this knowledge, her team is comfortable in her leading the defense and taking control of the back row. Ellie is quick and able to get to every ball. She can pass consistently if the ball is directly at her or if she has to take the pass outside her body. She makes each ball a playable ball for the team to run a fast, quick offense. She takes feedback well and always does what she needs to do to improve the next play. She is a quiet leader, leading by her work ethic and desire to get better as well as getting those around her better. She always has something positive to say to her team and keeps them in control, in every situation.
Comments from Coach Amy McLeay:

Work ethic or drive for volleyball
Ellie is a very hard worker. She is driven to improve personally, as well as for the benefit of her team.

Ellie has helped facilitate volleyball clinics for grade school children as well as help within her own parish.
⇒ ESTELLA ZATCHKA, 2022, Uncommitted
Comments from Coach Chelsea Potter :
Area Most Improved in 2019
Estella was given a lot of responsibility this season in terms of court to cover on defense and serve receive. Her competitive nature also helped to drive our offense as she did everything possible to get our setter (
