The 2019 Fullerton Warriors finished last season at district finals with a loss to Chambers/Wheeler Central and a record of 18-10. Under 8-year head coach Megan Plumbtree the coach comments, “We were a young team, starting two freshmen and one sophomore. We had a very good season considering the amount of inexperience on the floor.”
Coach Plumbtree goes on to discuss the 2020 season, “We are looking to be very competitive in the 2020 season. We will have some kinks to work out early on, as we do every year, as we will transition young players into starting roles. Older players are going to have to be willing to become role players. TEAM is going to be a KEY concept.”
What coach doesn’t mention about 2020 is that she will have three players 6’ or taller. And, get this, they are the coaches’ daughters!!! Senior Hanna, junior Jordan, and freshman McKenna will have the opportunity to be on the court at the same time.
Can you imagine having 3 players 6’ and above all on the same team, let alone sisters??? As a coach and fan, I would love to see the dynamics between this family unit. Do you think they get along on the court or really go after each other? As a mother of two girls, mine would’ve been in each others’ ear all of the time and fans would’ve seen some eye-rolling. But, to hear more about these sisters, you have to vote them into round 2!!! I would love to be a fly on the wall at their supper table during the volleyball season. I have some answers to these questions, but no answers until round 2!
For now, as Coach mentioned, more about the TEAM! As Fullerton is teetering between D1 and C2 this upcoming season they graduate some seniors but return most of their experience on the court. In addition to the Plumbtrees, the supporting cast of sophomore setter Teagan Gonsior and back row specialists sophomore McKenzie Supik, junior ToriAnn Engel, and senior Josie Sonderup (13.7 receptions per set!!) will make sure to aid in their attackers getting a great set to terminate.
The Warriors have never made it to state and look up to the challenge in 2020.
Returning players

Coaches Comments: Will be a strong force for us this year in the front row. We continue to work on her overall quickness.
Hannah on a team slogan, “If you don’t believe, you don’t belong. This was our team slogan last year but I think it will fit us again this year because we have the potential and sometimes we forget that amongst ourselves during the season.
⇒Jordan Plumbtree | 2022 | 6’0′ MH | UNCOMMITTED AND INTERESTED
HUDL Highlights
2019 Awards: All Conference 2nd Team, Ended up 1st All-Area for Ace Serves
2019 Stats:
Kills/Set, Total, Hitting Percentage: 3.5, 302, .175
Blocks Total: 35
Coaches Comments: I’m hoping to get her developed enough to become a six-rotation player this year.
Jordan on positions, “I have switched positions many times. I have played three different positions on the court. I honestly do a good job of adjusting, which sometimes is hard to change the way you hit depending on angles and types of sets. Personally, playing outside is my favorite because I can see the whole court while I am in the air. However, I am thinking I will be a middle this year, which will be tough to adjust to. I am 6’0 tall so I am needed as a middle to help out with blocking.”
⇒Teagan Gonsior | 2023 | 5’4″ Setter | UNCOMMITTED AND INTERESTED
Club: South Central
2019 Awards: All-Conference 2nd Team, All-State Honorable Mention

Assists/Set, Total: 8.0, 671
Coaches Comments: A phenomenal overall athlete. Makes things happen on the court.
Teagan on a team slogan, “All for One” would be a good team slogan for us. The coaches last year did a very good job of reminding us that each and every one of us girls on the team contributes to our success. Even if you aren’t one of the first 6 that are on the court.”
⇒Josie Sonderup | 2021| 5’1″ Libero | UNCOMMITTED

2019 Stats:
Serving Percentage: 94.2
Digs/Set, Total: 3.3, 290

Josie’s team slogan, “Positive vibes, we always try to make it positive Because you play so much better together.”
⇒Olivia Anderson | 2021 | 5’2 Setter/DS
⇒Tori Engel | 2022
2019 Stats:
Digs/Set, Total: 1.6, 137
Receptions/Set, Total: 5.3, 449
Tori on pregame rituals, “Us ladies spend every minute together on game day. We love the hype and we love getting pumped up for games. We jam out to our favorite music, dance like nobody is watching, and we get our heads in the game and get out on the court and communicate, compete, and win the game.
⇒McKenzie Supik | 2022 | 5’3 OH
Club: South Central
2019 Stats:
Digs/Set, Total: 2.6, 225
Receptions/Set, Total: 6.4, 557
Coaches Comments: McKenzie will most likely transition into an outside hitter this year, great defensive player.
McKenzie understands the importance of TEAM, “As I’m going into my Sophomore season, the one thing I have learned most is teamwork.”
