Alison Buchholz, 5’7″, S, Jesuit High School, Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy
Buchholz, a three-year starting setter for the Jesuit High School Crusaders, has helped them win two 6A State titles. For the Crusaders, Buchholz has accumulated 1,523 assists running both a 5-1 and 6-2. As a sophomore, she was awarded Metro Second Team All-League and this past season she was awarded Metro First Team All-League as well as Second Team All-State for the 6A tournament. She is currently running a 5-1 as the only setter for Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy 18-1 National team, one of three juniors on the team. Coming into her senior season for Jesuit, it will be exciting to watch her dominate one last time. She is currently uncommitted to a school for 2021 but whatever school she chooses is lucky to have her.
Adia Messenger Adia Messenger 5'10" | S Reynolds | 2021 State OR , 5’10″, S, Reynolds High School, Portland Volleyball Club, Eastern Washington University
Messenger, a three-year Varsity starter for Reynolds High School, is a competitive and versatile athlete. She was awarded Mt. Hood Second Team All-League as a sophomore and Mt. Hood First Team All-League this past season. Given her 5’10” stature and powerful arm swing she hits as well as sets, though usually on the right side, and tried her hand at the middle during the high school season. This past season she was averaging 23.2 assists, 12.2 digs, 2.3 aces, and 5.5 kills per match. This season, under new head coach Nerisa Laban, she helped the Raiders take a set off of powerhouse team Central Catholic High School. She is currently setting for Portland Volleyball Club’s 18-1 National team. As she returns to Reynolds for her senior season, it will be exciting to watch her dominate one last time. She has committed to play for Eastern Washington University, where she is sure to make an impact.
Peyton Griffin Peyton Griffin 6'0" | S Jesuit | 2021 State OR , 6’0″, S, Jesuit High School, North Pacific Juniors
Griffin, who helped the Jesuit Crusaders win another 6A state title this past season, is an agile and well-rounded athlete. During her junior season, she and Buchholz ran a 6-2, where she totaled 273 assists. Given her height she was their dominant right side attacker, racking up 157 kills on the season. She was awarded Metro First Team All-League her freshman and junior year, as well as All-State First Team All-League this past season. Her freshman season she ran a 5-1 and totaled up an impressive 997 assists. She is currently setting for North Pacific Juniors 17-1 National team. She is uncommitted to a school for 2021 as of right now, but it will be exciting to see where she chooses.
Melia Patrick Melia Patrick 5'10" | S Wilson | 2021 State OR , 5’10″, S, Wilson High School, Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy
Patrick, a three-year Varsity starter for the Wilson Trojans, is a steady setter who runs a consistent and fast offense for her team. She was awarded Portland Interscholastic Second Team All-League as a junior and Portland Interscholastic First Team All-League as a sophomore. As the only returner to Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy 17-1 and the only setter on the roster, she uses her athleticism and leadership to make her self indispensable to the team. She is currently not committed to a college for 2021, but wherever she ends up she is sure to make waves.
Hannah Ledgerwood, 5’7″, S, Sheldon High School, Webfoot Juniors
Ledgerwood helped the Fighting Irish go undefeated in league play and secure a fourth-place finish in the 6A State tournament. She is an incredibly smart setter, with a great attack on the second ball, who can either swing away or place a sneaky dump shot. For her play, she was awarded Southwest Conference First Team All-League. She is currently setting for Webfoot Juniors 18-1 team. She is not yet committed to a college for 2021, but it will be exciting to see where she ends up.
