As of the writing of this article, there is exactly ONE player from the state of Indiana committed to play college ball in the fall of 2022. That’s it. Here are the pin attackers that you should know going into this fall.
Katie Egenolf Katie Egenolf 6'1" | OH Center Grove | 2022 State #108 Nation IN , 6-1, OH, Center Grove, Circle City, Prep Dig #1
Here she is, our #1 recruit for the class of ’22 in Indiana. Katie straight up brings it. Since she was so much bigger than her classmates when she first started playing ball, she started as a middle. Now, under the tutelage of club director Scott McQueen, Katie has moved to the left pin, but can thump from both pins. She’s even sprinkled in a little back row work, both offensively and defensively, to expand her abilities. Add to the fact that she just recently joined the ten foot club. This is as “can’t miss” as you can get, and after leading CG to the state semifinal as a sophomore last year, we only expect more.
Estella Kleffman Estella Kleffman 5'9" | OH Trinity Lutheran | 2022 State IN , 5-9, OH, Trinity Lutheran, Union, Prep Dig #8
Although mostly seen as a DS by her high school team, she has put in time as a six rotation player as well. I list her this high because of her well-rounded skill set. She can put balls away, is always in the right spot on defense, rarely makes errors in serve receive, and is just a good kid to have on the court. She also comes from winning programs in both TL (state final appearance in ’19) and Union (multiple tournament wins in spring of ’20).
Eva Hudson Eva Hudson 6'1" | OH Bishop Dwenger | 2022 State #110 Nation IN , 5-10, OH, Bishop Dwenger, Team Pineapple, Prep Dig #9
A do-everything six rotation player is what you get out of Eva. Her abilities to take over a match are well-documented, and is being sought after by multiple programs as I type this sentence. She has every shot in the book, and is slowly developing her ability to improve her back row play, both defensively and offensively. You also cannot ignore the fact that Eva is the only All-State Honoree (3A 2nd team all-state) on this list. I look forward to making a short drive up Interstate 69 to see Miss Hudson’s improvement since February.
Natalie Lostutter Natalie Lostutter 5'9" | RS Floyd Central | 2022 State IN , 5-9, RS, Floyd Central, Union, Prep Dig #12
A recent transfer from Christian Academy, where she was a winner there, Natalie brings an added ability to thump from the right pin for Floyd. Her speed beats most blocks, and her shot ability beats most defenders. In typical Union fashion, she’s a shorter-than-average player with bigger-than-average volleyball IQ that regularly wins. Hard to argue that point with Union kids.
Macarty McQueen Macarty McQueen 5'10" | OH Carmel | 2022 State IN , 5-10, OH, Carmel, Munciana, Prep Dig #13
A fast arm accompanies an explosive jump with this six-rotation player. She has every shot you can ask for, and can take out-of-system balls and turn them into points. With her Munciana training, she’s also learned to receive serve at a higher level, which makes her a bit more marketable than some of the other pin attackers on this list.
