Several young players with diverse skillsets are preparing to take the floor for high school volleyball teams throughout the 15th Region. 

Here are four versatile 15th Region sophomores to watch.

Amelia Casey: An outside hitter/middle hitter, Casey is an accomplished young player for improving Phelps. As a freshman in 2019, Casey recorded 137 kills, 110 blocks and 32 digs in 28 matches. Casey hits consistently from the left side and has shown the ability to thrive along the middle of the net, producing regularly as a blocker. 

Timmy Ellis: A sophomore setter/defensive specialist, Ellis thrived as a freshman for Lawrence County throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season. As a freshman in 2019, Ellis recorded 273 assists, 136 digs and 34 service aces through former 16th Region member Lawrence County's first 30 matches. An accurate passer, Ellis is a vocal leader who runs the offense efficiently. 

Emily Johnson: An outside hitter/right side hitter/defensive specialist for Betsy Layne, Johnson is one of the most versatile young high school volleyball players in Eastern Kentucky. Making an impact for much-improved Betsy Layne during the 2019 high school volleyball season, Johnson posted 44 kills, 39 blocks, 25 assists, 61 digs and 65 service aces
