Here are three All-State middles returning.
Olivia Crowl Olivia Crowl MB Campbell County | 2021 State KY : The 2019 10th Region Player of the Year, Crowl is a middle blocker from Campbell County. Crowl excelled for Campbell County throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season, recording 341 kills and 144 blocks in 36 matches (117 sets). The productive Crowl led Campbell County in kills and blocks. In addition to being named the 2019 10th Region Player of the Year as a junior in 2019, Crowl was a Second Team All-State selection. Crowl uses quick attacks on offense and thrives as a blocker, both individually and with teammates.
Taylor Preston Taylor Preston 6'2" | OH St. Henry | 2022 State #66 Nation KY : A First Team All-State selection as a junior in 2019, Preston is a middle blocker from St. Henry. Dominant at the net during 34th District runner-up St. Henry’s 2019 season, Preston registered nearly 400 kills and 100 blocks as the Crusaders finished runner-up to Notre Dame in the 9th Region. The athletic Preston, who plays club volleyball for NKYVC, led St. Henry in kills and blocks during the 2019 high school volleyball season. A stout hitter who produces all along the net, Preston is an outstanding blocker.
Madison Rice-Locket: One of the state’s top female athletes, Rice-Locket is a middle blocker from Male. Rice-Locket was a Second Team All-State selection as a sophomore in 2019. A longtime leader for Male, Rice-Locket contributed to the varsity high school volleyball program prior to entering high school, delivering during her eighth grade year. Rice-Locket, who plays club volleyball for national powerhouse KIVA, excels for Male and led the Bulldogs at the net throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season. A force at the net, Rice-Locket is explosive and finishes strong.
