Heading into the 2020 high school volleyball season, several experienced sophomores from the 5th Region are poised to thrive.
Here are three 5th Region sophomore outside hitters to watch.
Addie Atcher: A key contributor as a freshman for title contender Central Hardin, Atcher was on the floor in each match during the Bruins’ 2019 high school volleyball season. Helping to pace 5th Region runner-up Central Hardin, Atcher recorded 359 kills, along with 32 blocks and 24 digs. Explosive and a strong hitter from the left side, Atcher is one of the top sophomore volleyball players in the 5th Region.
Maddie Livingston: Emerging as a go-hitter during the 2019 high school volleyball season, Livingston ranked second in kills for Thomas Nelson. Livingston logged 174 kills, 117 digs and 33 service aces in 2019. The productive Livingston was among the leaders as Thomas Nelson captured the 2019 19th District championship. Livingston has the ability to dig consistently and reads opposing defenses well.
Faith Ramos: Among the most underrated young volleyball players in the 5th Region, Ramos was one of the leaders for North Hardin throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season. Ramos ranked second in kills for the Trojans. With Ramos and multiple talented teammates returning, North Hardin is expected to be an improved squad. Ramos delivers from both the front row and back row while being a solid blocker who excels at the net.
