Continue ReadingPotentially one of the best setters in the state to come out of this class, Taylor runs a first tempo offense very well for her age. She has the ability to jump set with great ease and skill, giving her hitters an open court while pulling opposing blockers. She has a high volleyball IQ as she understands the best opportunities to dump the ball while the defense is on their heels.
Tallying 41 assists in Keller’s match against defending state champions Byron Nelson, Taylor leads her team not only in the locker room but with her ability to spread the offense around and force defenses to scramble. The characteristics that set great setters apart from “good” setters are not only consistency and hustle, but the ability to read the defense and give your hitters an open court with no block to swing for the fences. Taylor exemplifies what makes a setter great, and she will only continue to grow in her volleyball career.
Her talents go beyond just setting as Taylor also plays great defense and can hit well. As an all-around player, she has great endurance and brings energy to her teammates. She can also post a shut-down block on the right side, making opposing outside hitters work hard to hit around her hands. For future college coaches, Taylor can provide versatile talents on the court and off the court, leading a team with her setting abilities, defensive prowess, and court awareness.
