Continue ReadingThe sun may have set on summer vacation, but Prep Dig has a slew of opportunities coming up for those without a fall season to look forward to! While the masks made it hard to recognize some players, I was able to ask around and find some new players that I will be looking for in the future!
What New Players Are On The Radar
Grace Kieselhorst – 2021 – 5’9 – Setter/Right Side Hitter – Luther Prep
Kieselhorst is super athletic and can run a fast offense. She knows the game, shows a high IQ in transition, and exudes confidence for her team to feed off. Kieselhorst has great set location, can set off a lead leg and puts up a strong block.
Holly Malkowski – 2021 – 5’9 – Setter – Fox Valley Lutheran
This setter knows how to run an offense and plays hard. Malkowski improved a ton from one week to another, and her confidence also grew exponentially. I can’t wait to see them as they work toward an even faster offense.
Katie Lockwood – 2023 – 5’9 – Outside Hitter – Menomonee Falls
This player needs to be on the radar of college coaches. Lockwood is solid in serve-receive and does the little things, like covering hitters and makes most plays on the ball look easy. She was crucial in the Phoenix win against Prentice and gives Falls a bright future.
Kaitlin Schulz Kaitlin Schulz 6'0" | OH Kimberly | 2023 State WI – 2023 – 5’11 – Pin Hitter – Kimberly
Schulz would come flying in from out of nowhere and with an arm swing that’s even faster! She was so terminal for Kimberly that she started catching a lot of attention. Schulz had high energy, a whip for an arm, and knew exactly where to find the open court.
Maya Vosters – 2021 – 6’0 – Middle Blocker – Freedom
Vosters has a lot of potential and the energy to get there. She is an active hitter and constantly monitoring the other side of the net. She can make a big difference in the middle or on the right side.
Olivia Dettmering – 2021 – 5’8 – Setter – Prentice
Dettmering is THE setter for Prentice. She is clever, moves well, and gives her hitters plenty of opportunities. Dettmering puts up a strong block and is a solid defender..
Olivia Nehls – 2021 – Libero – Prentice Nehls has been patiently waiting to be the ‘bro as an experienced all-conference player Katelyn Isaacson dominated the jersey the last few years. Now that Isaacson is graduated, Nehls is showing off her scrappy, gritty style of play. She made some huge digs that her team couldn’t quite capitalize on in the championship match against a tough Menomonee Falls squad.
