Here is a scouting report on a Topeka West squad that featured just two seniors in their varsity lineup.
The Three Stars of the Game
MB, Adina Davis, 5’6”– Davis was the most impressive senior on the court for the Chargers. She finished the two matches with a total of 32 digs and six kills. Her best game of the night came in West’s 19-25, 22-25 loss to Junction City. She has a nice reach and she is not afraid to lead on the court. She projects as a JUCO level recruit. Davis is still looking for her first college offer.
L, Laurel Parhomek, 5’8”,– Parhomek, a sophomore, made a strong argument to be placed on the Prep Dig Kansas Class of 2023 rankings when they are released. She had a total of 32 digs in the two matches. For her age, she plays with a high composure level. She has multiple years of high school ball ahead of her, but it appears she could play Libero at the DII level.
MH, MaKinsey Jones, 6’0”– Jones is another sophomore starting for the Varsity Chargers. She is a tall, raw talent with a huge reach. She had eight blocks in the loss to Junction City. She added to blocks against Seaman. If she continues to grow and builds her upper body strength she could be a fringe DI recruit.
