6 Bishop DuBourg High School 0-0
5 Cardinal Ritter High School 0-0
1 Christian High School 2-5
3 Grandview (Hillsboro) High School 7-10
4 Lutheran North High School 1-6
2 Whitfield High School 3-5
Not going to go much into this district. Christian wins it hands down, and if not Christian, then Grandview. As you can tell by looking at this district, not many games played. Addison Lyon Addison Lyon 5'10" | S O'Fallon Christian | 2021 State MO and Belle Monaco come out swinging for the title.
District 6 Prediction: Tolton Champions
Quarterfinals
5 Calvary Lutheran High School 2-12
4 Russellville High School 8-14-1
Russellville has already taken a 2-0 and a 3-1 from Calvary this year. Taking Russellville in a 3-0 to move to the semifinals.
2 Eugene High School 13-10
3 Tipton High School 7-12-1
These two haven’t met up this year, but I’ll take Eugene with a 3-1 victory with common opponents and schedule strength.
Semifinals
1 Father Tolton Regional Catholic High School 9-5
4 Russellville High School 8-14-1
Father Tolton wins this one in 3-1, and a familiar opponent would probably agree.
Finals
1 Father Tolton Regional Catholic High School 9-5
2 Eugene High School 13-10
Tolton took a 2-1 25-11, 12-25, 25-16 win already this year. I look for this to be much closer with Tolton winning in 5.
District 7 Prediction: Steelville Champions
2 Belle High School 10-9-1
5 Bourbon High School 0-15-1
3 Dixon High School 3-16
4 Linn High School 0-9
Finals
1 Steelville High School 9-10-1
2 Belle High School 10-9-1
Not really a well-known district, and after researching each team, I don’t see this being much of a challenge for Steelville.
District 8 Prediction: Cabool Champions
4 Houston High School 10-9-3
5 Thayer High School 1-11-1
Houston wins it 3-0 Thayer’s, a basketball school, not a volleyball school.
Semifinals
1 Cabool High School 26-3-4
4 Houston High School 8-9-3
Cabool is just way too much for Houston and already has a 3-0 win 25-16, 25-15, 25-10.
2 Licking High School 18-9-3
3 Conway High School 12-10-3
These two locked horns earlier, and Licking came out with a 3-1 14-25, 26-24, 25-23, 25-16 victory. Both are 5-1 on common opponents, but Conway might have a more vigorous schedule. Going with my gut and taking the experience Licking received from placing 3rd in Class 2 last year to move on to play Cabool in the finals. Conway’s sophomores of Gibby Beckler and Breanna Thompson might be one year away from reaching a district final. Kamryn Barnes has Licking back in the title hunt against Cabool, hoping to keep a return trip to state alive.
Finals
1 Cabool High School 27-3-4
2 Licking High School 18-9-3
Cabool is 3-0 this year against Licking, but the last one was a fight. 2-1 25-21, 21-25, 26-24 Cabool victory where Hailey Shannon had 12 kills and Olivia Scheets had 10 for the Bulldogs. Cabool’s offensive balance is more than Licking can handle in the final in a 3-1 loss.
