Continue ReadingOver the next few months I will be rolling out some articles that will recognize teams who have been playing exceptionally well this volleyball season. I will still be doing our regular highlight articles on multiple athletes for exposure, however I wanted to do some special articles on a few teams that we are getting to know quite well with Prep Dig TX. We would like to preview the Rosehill Christian School Lady Eagle Volleyball Team and their hot start to the season.
Rosehill Christian School is located in the Tomball, Texas area which has a population of around 10,000 people. They play in the TAPPS 3A District 7. They are currently undefeated at 11-0 on the young season. They are just coming off of some great wins over Brazos Christian (also previously undefeated) and Beaumont Legacy this past week. What was supposed to be a hard fought battle of undefeated teams with Brazos Christian turned out to be a straight set convincing victory for the Lady Eagles. These young ladies are hungry after a 2019 campaign saw them get third in the TAPPS state playoffs last year. They look as if they are ready to go a little further this season. Here are just a few of their young talent that are helping lead them to victory:
Savannah Jennings [2023] 5-10 Setter/Right Side (HS: Rosehill Christian School/Club: Woodlands Revolution/ Verbal: Uncommmitted)
Savannah is currently unranked in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings, but expect that to change once I updated them early next month. She is the leader of the Rosehill offense as she “sets” the tone. She has a great frame for a setter and is able to move well on the court. She has solid setting technique, as she is able to deliver the ball to all locations on the court to her teammates. Savannah is able to run quick tempo and also push the ball to both pins with ease. Her size also allows her to play front row for both school and club. Out of systems balls do not give her any trouble as she is able to track them down and still deliver to her pins.
Brylee Kobza [2023] 5-7 Libero (HS: Rosehill Christian School/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Brylee is currently unranked in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings, but be on the lookout to see where she falls after the update in early November. Miss Kobza is a great libero for Rosehill and has outstanding serve receive skills. She is able to keep her platform away from her body and absorb contact on hard driven serves, which make it easier to locate. Most Liberos have a tough time moving backwards for a high serve, but not Brylee. She still is able to keep her upper body in a forward direction to keep the ball moving toward the net. I love how she covers her hitters so well and always keeps the ball in play. Bry moves very well on the court defensively and reads the attacker well. Rosehill will be in good hands for years to come as she is only a sophomore.
We will continue to cover the Lady Eagles as they dominate their district on the way to another deep run in the state playoffs. Stay tuned to see if there is anyone who can challenge them.
We will be publishing more articles weekly to give recognition to those teams and athletes who are playing great in their matches. Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes. If you have anyone that you think deserves to be recognized as a player of the week, feel free to send me a message with their information. Or if you have anyone that you think have what it takes to be added to our database, please shoot me an email with some info at nov8vb@yahoo.com. As always, thanks for following our publication.
