2021 and 2022 “X-Factor’s” Take On Wisconsin Top 250
We are days away from the Wisconsin Top 250 to be held at Milwaukee Sting and there are so many great athletes across the state. Some will be tall, have crazy jump touches, or have metrics that are tough to top. But there are some athletes who just have an “X-Factor”, something different that helps their team on their side of the net. It could be how they communicate, the energy they bring, and how they just find a way to get it done.
New on the radar 🔥
Calli Haus Calli Haus 5'8" | OH Fond du Lac | 2022 State WI of Fondy Class of 2022 pin. She talks, calls the ball, super active, jumpy, athletic. Fun player to watch! pic.twitter.com/XS16LU3bqq— Chris Fitzgerald (@PrepDigChris) September 29, 2020
Calli Haus Calli Haus 5'8" | OH Fond du Lac | 2022 State WI – Fond du Lac
Class of 2022 – OH
I was able to see house play all fall in the Prep Dig Fall League. She stood out in every positive way possible. A six rotation outside that is electric, Haus is aggressive with her approach and attack, but she is looking to attack at all times. She is constantly talking, moving, creating energy that is contagious for the rest of her team. Definitely keep tabs on Haus through club and her alternative high school season which Fond du Lac will have in the fall.

Delaney McIntosh Delaney McIntosh 5'10" | DS/L Verona | 2022 State WI – Verona – Capital Volleyball Academy
Class of 2022 – OH
McIntosh had a really solid fall with Verona and her Madtown Team that played in Prep Dig Events where she is solid in every rotation. She finds a way to score points with power or with creativity. In the backrow she is relied upon to be a primary passer and is extremely dependable in serve receive. Someone with her athleticism and intangibles would be extremely welcome at the next level.
Ella Buddenhagen Ella Buddenhagen 5'11" | OH Kimberly | 2022 State WI firing on all cylinders this morning for K-Town closing on a win against Red Raiders pic.twitter.com/y1IXYkTqJU

Ella Buddenhagen Ella Buddenhagen 5'11" | OH Kimberly | 2022 State WI – – Kimberly
Class of 2022 – OH
Buddenhagen keeps improving each time I see her take the court, most recently this fall with her sere receive and back row attacking. She has really elevated her game to the next level and is also a high academic student to add to her volleyball skill. Her commitment to improvement and finding ways to help her team will be a huge asset this winter for club.
Mickenzi Benter Mickenzi Benter 5'9" | RS Fox Valley Lutheran | 2022 State WI with the big left handed swing for FVL. Foxes coming back strong in set two up 13-7 pic.twitter.com/vsf6iXHRF0

Mickenzi Benter Mickenzi Benter 5'9" | RS Fox Valley Lutheran | 2022 State WI – Fox Valley Lutheran – Impact
Class of 2022 – RS
Benter was part of a highly successful FVL team that was bumped up to D1 and made it to the sectional final before falling to Sauk Prairie. A heavy, left handed swing from the right side really stretches the defense. She is well skill in all areas and can put up a second ball if needed. She’s the one that can change the dynamic of the game with big kills in big moments.
Brooklyn Montgomery Brooklyn Montgomery 5'5" | OH Mosinee | 2021 State WI – Mosinee – Wisconsin Ice
Class of 2021 – S/OH
Montgomery had quite a senior year for Mosinee, who was among the top teams in D2 all season. She’s a triple double type of athlete who can pile on the kills, assists, digs, and is a huge threat to score from behind the service line. She is the swiss army knife athlete who can make contributions in plenty of ways.
Lot of athleticism with teams out of the FRCC. 2022 pin Olivia Sullivan from Notre Dame Academy has had a big fall season! Cadence Maxfield Cadence Maxfield 5'8" | S Notre Dame Academy | 2022 State WI setting can do it all as well. pic.twitter.com/CtR8DQ5yfJ

Cadence Maxfield Cadence Maxfield 5'8" | S Notre Dame Academy | 2022 State WI – Notre Dame – Impact
Class of 2022 – S/Utility
Maxfield has a fiery disposition and killer instinct on the court. She can set, defend or swing on the right side. She can put up a clean ball to hit, but she can also find the opening on the other side of the net.
Amelia Dettmering – Prentice – OH – Class of 2021
Olivia Dettmering – Prentice – S – Class of 2021
The Dettmering twins played a huge part in Prentice’s successful 2020 campaign which earned them a spot in the D4 state tournament. Two all around athletes and skill plays, they have a solid foundation of skills at all positions. Amelia is an outside hitter and a solid defender while Olivia is a setter and another all around defender who can block and pass.
Cassandra Alsum Cassandra Alsum 5'9" | OH Randolph | 2022 State WI – Randolph – Milwaukee Sting
Class of 2022 – OH
Athletes who go hard and take a big swing are always exciting. That is Alsum who can let it rip from the front or backrow. She’s aggressive with plenty of intangibles where she could be a pin at the next level or a DS who can provide a swing out of the backrow. Randolph had a successful 2020 season and will be gearing up with a strong core of athletes returning in 2021.
Rachel Mueller ends a long rally for Osh West to win set three and the match pic.twitter.com/dAacyIkZ2Q
— Chris Fitzgerald (@PrepDigChris) September 22, 2020
Rachel Mueller – Oshkosh West
Class of 2021 – OH
Mueller is just steady and solid on the outside. She will find a role to contribute to her team somehow whether its as an attacker or a DS. This past fall during the Prep Dig Events since Oshkosh West did not have a season she said, “I just want to play, give me a jersey”. Great example of someone who wants to contribute and be part of a team anyways they can.
Josie Nelson – Green Bay NEW Lutheran
Class of 2021 – S
GB NEW Lutheran dropped a tough five set match to Catholic Central in the section final who would go on to sweep the state tournament for the title. Nelson was one of the top D4 setters in her class and can put up a clean ball from pin to pin. She is coming on late in her Senior year and definitely has the hands to contribute at the next level.
Sophie McCormack Sophie McCormack 6'0" | OH Kettle Moraine | 2022 State WI a 2022 pin super fast to the ball pic.twitter.com/cAkF81HVaH

Sophie McCormack Sophie McCormack 6'0" | OH Kettle Moraine | 2022 State WI – Kettle Moraine – MVP ‘ last=”]
Class of 2022 – RS/OH
McCormack is a big miss for Prep Dig with the rankings (yes, we do miss players :), she is showing this past season and the end of the summer that she is a rising 2022 prospect. She is long, athletic, and can score points from the left or right side. She also provides a really big block and provides a spark of energy on the court as well.
