We have athletes who are just getting their recruiting started, ones who are rising on the radar, and potentially some who will be looking to close the deal. The environment is fast-paced with athletes getting to play in various 4 v 4, Queens, Positional Breakouts, and 6 v 6. This is for all athletes playing at the college level and to compete against top players in all classes. Here are some from the Class of 2021 and 2022 to take note of.
Mckenna Scheib Mckenna Scheib MB Ankeny | 2021 State IA – Ankeny – Six Pack
Class of 2021
Scheib is fresh off a state championship for the Ankeny Hawkettes in Class 5A. She is long, athletic, and extremely versatile with her skill set in the front row. Her presence is always known as a blocker whether she is in the middle or the right side. Offensively she can touch and attack high with a solid IQ of where to find the open spot. Her upside is extremely high. After a successful high school career, I believe her best volleyball is still ahead of her with her drive. She’s has always been part of highly successful teams at the high school and club level.
Samantha Schroeder Samantha Schroeder 6'2" | MB Dowling | 2022 State IA – Dowling – Club Ignit Select
Class of 2022
At 6’1 and extremely long, Schroeder gets better each time she steps on the court. Her progress over the course of the club season and then into the Dowling starting lineup for one of the top teams in Class 5A has been a result of continued repetition and hard work. Schroeder is a major sleeper in the Class of 2022. She touches 10 feet and if her growth in the past year is any indication of what her future holds as a volleyball player, she will be a scary good player at the next level.
Carly Puffer Carly Puffer 6'0" | MB Wilton | 2022 State IA – Wilton – Iowa Rockets
Class of 2022
Puffer is the physical middle blocker you need in the front line. Strong, athletic, and just a competitor that brings another grit to the court. She is another who continues to improve each time she steps on the court. Seeing her at the state tournament, her game was at another level connecting extremely well with setter Ella Caffery Ella Caffery 5'9" | S Wilton | 2022 State IA . Puffer plays primarily out of the middle, but played in the backrow and could see her on the right side as well. Her versatility really sets her apart as well as her killer instinct.
Piper Kirchhoff had one heck of a day! She was scoring a ton of points from both jobs. Not afraid to take a big swing and really go for it! pic.twitter.com/6bkgfhhMkJ

Piper Kirchhoff – Dowling – PowerPlex
Class of 2022
Kirchhoff was on a loaded roster of talent from Dowling Catholic. Last year at the Top 250, she really had a breakout performance where she can provide a big, aggressive swing from either pin. She’s been a right side, but has evolved her game to be able to attack and score points from anywhere. Will be fun to have someone in the gym that will bring an aggressive style and energy.
Lexi Stephens Lexi Stephens 5'4" | DS/L Ankeny | 2022 State IA – Ankeny – IPVA
Class of 2022
Stephens just brings a spark to the court and was the starting libero for Ankeny enroute to a state title. We will have a few state champions in the house at this event. Stephens is solid with being able to take pace off a hard driven swing or can put a serve right to the setter. Well trained and accustomed to a high level, she will be a good catch at the next level.
Elise Mehaffy Elise Mehaffy 5'8" | S Marion | 2022 State IA – Marion – Iowa Rockets
Class of 2022
Mehaffy is another swiss army knife player where she can do anything on the court. Extremely well rounded. She can set, she can score points, and most of all she is a high IQ athlete that can find an open spot on the court or create a positive touch for her teammates. She had a strong year for Marion and will be gearing up for a big club season in 2021.
Katherine Kouba Katherine Kouba 5'6" | DS/L Iowa City West | 2022 State IA – Iowa City West – Iowa Rockets
Class of 2022
I love the style of Kouba. She is a libero who brings an athletic and physical style to the court, she’s gritty and wants to win. I was able to see her compete against some of the top athletes in Wisconsin (along with Mehaffy) and she can go at a high level. She has solid platform awareness and makes efficient moves where there is little wasted movement. Mehaffy, Puffer, and Kouba have all played together with Rockets and their connection could be fun to watch at this event!
Alia Vanderhoef Alia Vanderhoef OH City High | 2021 State IA – Iowa City High – Iowa Rockets
Class of 2021
Vanderhoef was a key piece to the Little Hawks offense all season and provides a solid swing from the pin. A team leader in kills, Vanderhoef can score points from anywhere in the front row and was part of the Iowa Top 250 in 2019. She will graduate this spring and be a solid pick up at the next level.
