Here’s a look at five 15th Region freshmen on the rise.
Mayson DeLong Mayson DeLong 5'10" | OH Johnson Central | 2024 KY long: A freshman middle blocker/outside hitter, Delong was among the leaders for Johnson Central during the 2020 high school volleyball season. Through Johnson Central’s first 17 matches, Delong recorded 106 kills, 25 blocks, 96 digs and 36 assists. A strong hitter from the left side and a stout blocker, Delong excels at the net.
Hannah Fite: A freshman defensive specialist, Fite emerged as a leader for Belfry during the Pirates’ latest campaign. In 15 matches, Fite logged 208 digs. An athletic defensive specialist who is aggressive, Fite covers the floor well consistently.
Clara McNamee: A freshman middle hitter, McNamee was another leader for Belfry during the 2020 high school volleyball season. Excelling in the middle, McNamee posted 117 kills, 102 digs and 20 service aces in 15 matches. Versatile as a blocker, McNamee delivers individually and with teammates.
Jenna Ousley: A freshman defensive specialist/libero, Ousley contributed for perennial 15th Region title contender Pikeville throughout the 2020 high school volleyball season. Ousley posted 53 digs in 16 matches for the Panthers. A defensive standout, Ousley uses quickness to deliver.
Courtlin Phillips: A freshman outside hitter/defensive specialist/opposite for East Ridge, Phillips is among the most versatile young high school volleyball players in Eastern Kentucky. Phillips provided 115 digs and 42 service aces for East Ridge during the 2020 high school volleyball season.
