Deidesheimer has good physicality and presence on the offensive side as she opens well to her setter, elevates with good balance, and swings aggressively. As a middle she sees what is in front of her well and can adjust her arm to swing to challenge the block or find open court space. She is athletic and strong and can bring a heavy ball. She provided nearly two kills per set for Bishop Fenwick while contributing just shy of two blocks per match as well.
Kaleigh Palmer – 2023 | 6’3 | MB/RS | Wapakoneta
Palmer is a big-time prospect. Just a sophomore she has good court presence and makes a big impact at the net on both sides of the ball. She has a physical arm on a quick attack that can be difficult to defend given her aggressive approach work. Her length is highlighted when swinging on the pins as she can get up and create a high contact point through mid-tempo and higher options that force patience and allow her to reach. Defensively, she shows good ability to read and take away space from opposing attackers. She led Wapakoneta with 3.5 kills per set and over two blocks per match.
Ryleigh Ronald – 2022 | 6’2 | MH | Claymont
At 3.8 kills per set, Ronald led the Mustangs offensively and did so with good efficiency at a .358 clip. She has good size as a middle and strikes the ball well to generate good pace with her power. She made a significant impact on the defensive side with an average of over four blocks per match. The junior can raise her stock as an impact middle by increasing her foot speed and establishing more confidence and presence offensively through quicker attacking options and overhead off one foot.
Caroline Speelman – 2022 | 6’0 | OH | Big Walnut
Speelman has a dynamic skill set as a six-rotation athlete. As an attacker, she gets her feet to the ball well and uses aggressive arm work to help create above average lift and balance in the air. Her arm swing is aggressive and she shows good range to complement the pace. She was the primary offensive threat for the Golden Eagles as she shouldered a big load when comparing attempt opportunities across their core hitters. She averaged 4.6 kills per set and just over eight digs per match. Improving patience and momentum build at the beginning of her approach patterns both in and out of system, while increasing her approach touch, could help solidify her as a Division I prospect.
Morgan Tydings – 6’1 | MH/RS | St. Francis Desales
Among offensive leaders for the Stallions in 2020 at over two kills per set, Tydings makes up for lacking true explosiveness off the floor with good use of her arm to swing aggressively. She finds her opportunities with good footwork and court sense to identify the ball in transition and make herself available through a variety of attack points. The space she creates around her setter also affords her room to move the ball around. She showed equal effectiveness in front of her setter as well as off one foot overhead, with the slide approach where she appears most comfortable and confident.
