Here are four 14th Region eighth graders to watch.
Alyssa Dixon: An eighth grade defensive specialist, Dixon, a transfer from Hazard, made an impact for Perry County Central throughout the 2020 high school volleyball season. Quick and athletic, Dixon logged a team-high 86 digs along with 29 service aces as an eighth grader. Agile, Dixon digs and pursues efficiently.
Taylan Hoskins: An eighth grade outside hitter, Hoskins emerged as a key contributor for Hazard during the 2020 high school volleyball season. As an eighth grader, Hoskins registered 11 kills, 3 blocks and 32 service aces. Aggressive, Hoskins is a strong hitter at the net.
Abigail Noble: An eighth grade setter/defensive specialist, Noble was a consistent contributor for Breathitt County during the 2020 high school volleyball season. A versatile young player who possesses a diverse skillset, Noble recorded 29 digs, 6 assists and 4 service aces in 33 sets. Noble appeared in all 18 matches for 2019 14th Region champion Breathitt County during its latest campaign.
Sydney Stidham: An eighth grade libero, Stidham was among the leaders for 14th Region title contender Knott County Central throughout the 2020 high school volleyball season. Stidham tallied 181 digs, 35 service aces and 14 assists in Knott County Central’s 11 matches. A young standout, Stidham possesses stellar defensive and passing skills.
