Continue ReadingWe at Prep Dig want to continue to highlight great accomplishments and give kudos to those who deserve it after all of the hard work they put in to their craft. We are going to highlight a few players who have recently surpassed some great milestones in the volleyball career. Say congrats to these three ladies on what they just accomplished:
Trinity Funderburk [2021] 5-6 Setter (HS: Atascocita/Club: Houston Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Trinity is currently an unranked prospect in the State for the 2021 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings but that will change once they get updated. She is the perfect teammate her coach says. She is an unbelievable leader. She just recently broke the 3,000 career assist mark at Atascocita and we couldn’t be more proud. Trinity has been on the AVCA All region team, Houston Chronicle All Greater Houston Team, and an UA All American Nominee. She is also a two time all district setter. This kid has very soft hands and delivers a near perfect ball to al of her hitters across the net. I love her fire and passion that she plays the game with. We are excited to watch her end her senior season on such a wonderful note.
Abbie Lane [2021] 6-0 Outside (HS: Weatherford/Club: TAV/Verbal: Holy Cross)
Abbie is currently unranked in the 2021 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings, but that will change once I update the rankings early next month. The Lady Roo career kills record is now broken thanks to Abbie. She sits at 981 career kills and still has matches to play. It is a fantastic feat for her to accomplish during her senior season. She is a super powerful attacker who has the ability to score from all areas of the court. She hits everything with authority and has impeccable timing from quick and from high tempo sets. There is not an area that she can’t hit from. She is signed with Holy Cross and they are getting an immediate impact player. She has the ability to be a six rotation outside or hit out of the middle. A player like this that can play multiple positions well is something to be treasured.
Allie Batenhorst [2021] 6-4 Outside (HS: Seven Lakes/Club: Houston Juniors/Signed: Nebraska)
Allie is currently ranked as the 13th top prospect in the 2021 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings, but that will change once I update the rankings early next month. She will be moving up that list for sure. Ally has just been named as an AVCA High School 1stTeam All-American. This is one of the highest honors a high school volleyball athlete can achieve. We in Texas are very proud of her and she will do great things at Nebraska and coach Cook. She is one of the premier attackers in the entire nation. She will definitely be a play-maker for Nebraska the moment she steps foot on campus. We wanted to congratulate her on receiving that awesome recognition from AVCA.
We will be publishing more articles weekly to give recognition to those teams and athletes who are playing great in their matches. Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes.
