Rumor has it many top Iowa athletes transferred their registration to the Omaha event in addition to a few from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois. We are all looking forward to a great event!!
I’m going directly to the high school coaches for information on the players that they spent the entire last season and maybe a few years with for comments about how they would help a college team. Nebraska has a great list of players attending! Keep an eye out for updates all week!
GOTHENBURG SWEDES
Aubrey O’Hare Aubrey O’Hare 5'9" | RS Gothenburg | 2024 State NE | 2024 | S/OH | 5’9 | Gothenburg | Nebraska Gold
Clara Evert Clara Evert 5'6" | OH Gothenburg | 2024 State NE | 2024 | OH | 5’6 | Gothenburg | Nebraska Gold
Coach Bryson Mahlberg:
First, both players are extremely competitive and have a high volleyball IQ. Next, I think coaches should notice the versatility of both players, Aubrey could be a collegiate setter, but plays middle in the front row for us. Clara could be an amazing libero, but plays outside for us. Both girls have such high character and work very hard and are willing to do anything for the betterment of the team. These are the players that any coach would love to have on their team.
MEAD RAIDERS
Brianna Lemke Brianna Lemke 6'0" | MB Mead | 2022 State NE | 2022 | OH | 6’0 | Mead | Nebraska One
Coach Keshia Havelka:
Bri Lemke – Bri has a ton of talent and just natural volleyball abilities. Her IQ has improved over the last couple of years and would be a great asset to any program. She has the capabilities to be a 6 rotation player on the outside for a college program and has the desire to do so. She led our team in kills, serve receive receptions, and aces this year. She was 2nd on the team in Hit %, digs, and blocks.
Emily Oldenburg Emily Oldenburg 5'10" | MB Mead | 2022 NE | 2022 | MH | 5’10 | Mead | Nebraska One
Coach Keshia Havelka:
Emily Oldenburg Emily Oldenburg 5'10" | MB Mead | 2022 NE – I have watched Emily’s volleyball skills improve rapidly over the last 3 years. She had never played organized volleyball before her freshman year. She stepped in last year midseason and became a starting middle attacker. This year her game is just at a completely higher level. She has an extremely fast arm swing out of the middle that can really cause issues for the defense. She has so much untapped potential that I am super excited to see her develop this winter/spring playing club and into her senior season.
Both players would be great assets to a program and I am excited to see how they do this weekend!
RAYMOND CENTRAL MUSTANGS
Halle Heiss | 2021 | S | 5’6 | Raymond Central | VCN
Coach Andrea Rockemann:
Halle is an extremely athletic setter and likes to jump set as often as possible. She has been a four-year starter for our program and knows the setting position well. Halle has had the opportunity to play front and back row as our leader in a 5-1 offense throughout her time at Raymond Central. She has the ability to consistently deliver the ball, run a quick tempo offense, and likes to be an offensive threat. Defensively, Halle reads and reacts well and is able to block well, even at 5’6″. Halle has a deceptive and aggressive float serve. She ended her high school career with 93 ace serves. She also holds the career assist record at Raymond Central with 1668 and was recently selected as a second-team all-conference player in our ten-team conference. Halle is a student of the game and thrives on the opportunity to grow her skills and her physical strength. As a leader and captain, Halle was always willing to show up and work hard on the court and in the weight room.
Although her skill set is solid, Halle knows she has the ability to continue to grow. She would be a great addition to a collegiate program who is looking to mold a setter to fit their style. She would be able to run an offense as the go-to setter, but could also adjust well in a two-setter system if her height was a concern. Her athleticism allows her to adjust and learn quickly. Halle is well-liked and respected by her teammates and peers because of her kind and respectful demeanor. She excels in the classroom and has been involved in a number of extracurricular activities, clubs and sports throughout her time at Raymond Central.
MORE TO COME THROUGHOUT THE WEEK!!!
