At 5’11, Barrett has great quickness and athleticism that she utilizes well at the net on both sides of the ball. She has versatility to be able to swing effectively in the middle and at the pins. When on time and balance she can elevate well and get on top of the ball with a high elbow while generating good pace on the ball. She shows good engagement throughout the flow of points and has good footwork laterally and in transition. Barrett averaged over two kills per set and nearly two blocks per match for Kings. She has big upside to her game and is one to keep an eye on as the club season commences.
Taryn DeWese – OH | Lake
DeWese has good length that benefits her offensive production with her ability to contact the ball at a high point. She shows good composure and competitiveness as a freshman and primary option for her varsity team this past fall season. She can be aggressive with her arm and produce through good range of attack points across the net. She will increase her production even more by developing more efficiency in her transition footwork off the net followed by more dynamic and intentional approach work with her arms to help her elevate more to maximize her contact point more consistently.

Marchal shows good potential as a middle and will undoubtedly continue to improve as she increases her footwork efficiency and gets stronger in the air with her arm. She shows good court awareness to transition with good intention to make herself available offensively. She creates good space around her setter and can swing through varied attack points in front and overhead off one foot. Along with Barrett, she helped form a solid corps of freshmen athletes for a Kings squad that finished 18-6 on the season. She led the Knights defensively at the net in contributing nearly three blocks per match.
Gretchen Sigman – RS | Springfield
A District VII honorable mention selection, Sigman is fun to watch. She gets up off the floor well and can get on the ball in a hurry with her arm. The lefty can swing through a variety of zones but does her best work on he right side and in combination to the middle of the court when stacked to the left side. She shows great confidence and maturity in her offensive skills and brought a lot to the court for this Springfield team as she led them offensively at over three kills per set. Her stat line was well balanced as she was among team leaders in blocks per match at 2.4 and total service aces with 40. She also added over seven digs per match to add to her defensive contributions.
