So many really highly respected athletes all in one place…it was impressive. I have missed the sounds of a full gym this year during our times we were not allowed to play and I am thankful we all had an opportunity to evaluate and enjoy our time in the gym today. Let’s talk about the setters I saw on court one this morning.
58 – Reese Janssen Reese Janssen 5'8" | S Coloumbus Lakeview | 2021 State NE (2021, S, Lakeview High School)
Reese is a 5’8″ setter from Lakeview High School with10.4 APS, .9 KPS, 47 aces with an 89.9% serve efficiency, 38 total blocks, and 3.0 DPS. She really is the entire enchilada. Watching her play this morning, I can say she definitely puts forth the effort to drive her team to succeed. She is clever in her use of the opponent’s expectations and will use them against them. Very smart player.
51 – Halle Heiss (2021, S, Raymond Central High School)
Halle is a 5’6″ setter from Raymond Central with 8.3 APS, .5 KPS, 2.8 DPS, 16 total blocks, and 43 aces with an 85.7% serve efficiency. Halle is a smart and skilled setter. She has a great jump set and really moves things on the court. She provides momentum to her teammates and will close the deal herself if she can.
31 – Morgan DenBeste (2022, S, Ankeny Centennial High School)
Morgan is a 5’8″ setter from Ankeny Centennial with 4.0 APS, .1 KPS, 2 blocks, 1.2 DPS, and 18 aces with a 96.2% serve efficiency. Morgan is obviously smart on the court and an all-around player with skills to help her team succeed. She was quick to the ball in our play today and is great at moving the ball from one side of the court to the other very fast and hitters seemed to love her sets.
71 – Amanda Lisi (2022, S, Wauconda High School)
Amanda is a 5’10” setter from Illinois. She was fast, scrappy, and spread the ball around to her different hitters well. With her height, she is able to see the court really well and places the ball in great spots for the hitters to make a play or to make one herself.
