Continue ReadingWe were excited to share our first edition of rankings for the class of 2024. We expect to add many more players this spring but chose 25 talented athletes as our starting point. Today we take a look at the players ranked 6-10. Many of the rankings going forward is based on high school stats, video, and what we see in the area of potential/growth.
#6 Anna Moore Anna Moore 5'10" | OH Cor Jesu | 2024 State MO – 5’10″ – OH – Cor Jesu/HPSTL
Moore had a good first season for Cor Jesu in their 14 match season. She competed in 18 sets and had 16 kills and 13 digs. Her hitting percentage will get higher with experience but she has a future on the pins. She will get stronger and increase her jumping with age and work. Moore has displayed the ability to score from the back row. Her defense is stellar.
#7 Ellie Emms Ellie Emms 5'11" | MB Lafayette | 2024 State MO – 5’11″ – MB – Lafayette/Rockwood
Emms played her high school season on an undefeated junior varsity team at Lafayette. Lafayette has a storied program and playing on the junior varsity doesn’t mean you don’t make the rankings. We love Emms’s energy on the court. She is an aggressive attacker and can score all across the front row. She scores at a high level with quick ones and back zeros. She is also solid on three balls. Like all of these athletes, she will get stronger with age and training.
#8 Nadia Wasilewski Nadia Wasilewski 6'1" | OH Jackson | 2024 State MO – 6’1″ – OH – Jackson
We didn’t know much about Wasilewski entering this season. As we were checking out the stat leaders for freshmen, her numbers stood out. After finding some game film and highlights, she’s a legit prospect in the class of 2024. She has the size and athleticism to catch the eyes of college coaches. She is one of the hardest hitters in the Class of 2024. She makes the defense play when coming down the middle on a two-ball. She has a good touchpoint for her age. We will continue to watch her growth as a passer.
#9 Emma Parker Emma Parker 6'1" | MB Eureka | 2024 State MO – 6’0″ – MB – Eureka/Rockwood
In a short 12 game season, Parker showed she is ready for the big lights of varsity volleyball. She earned 53 kills and 24 blocks this fall. Emms and Parker have similar playmaking skills from the middle position. The thing that stands out about Parker is her ability to pass and swing from the pin. With her size, she can be an effective pin player in the future. She is extremely athletic and someone who can move up in the rankings this spring.
#10 Allison Risley Allison Risley 5'11" | OH Lafayette | 2024 State #187 Nation MO – 5’10″ – OH – Lafayette/Rockwood
The last Rockwood player in this grouping is Risley. She has an absolute cannon. One thing we love seeing immediately is her effort to get off the net for her approaches. She gets a full approach that allows her to be effective. She is fluid as a defender and passer. She is another player we see moving up rapidly as the club year gets off and running. She was a contributor on the 14-2 Lafayette team producing 22 kills in 29 sets.
