First we broke the players down by division and then we switched gears to analyze who are expected to be the most outstanding athletes in the top teams of each of those divisions.
For the next several weeks, we’ll dive even deeper, taking a closer look at each of the 46 district leagues in the state of Washington and pointing out the players we believe will be worth your attention in the near future.
Expect a high level of competition from the ten high schools which are part of the 4A South Puget Sound district and some of their players with the greatest upside are:
Madison Brockway – Libero – Senior – Graham-Kapowsin
If Graham-Kapowsin was a family business, it would be fair to say that Madison Brockway split the duties with her younger sister Hailey in 2019. If Hailey was the Lady Eagles offensive force, Madison wasn’t least important for their success with her solid backcourt game that took the team all the way to a State Championship third-place finish. The 5’3” libero posted some really outstanding numbers last season, most notably team-highs in digs (401) and passes (264) on her way to be selected to the All-League second team.
Kiauna Mack Kiauna Mack 6'1" | MB Rodgers | 2022 WA – Middle-Blocker – Junior – Rogers
The middle-blocker position was an asset for a Rogers’ team that dominated the district in 2019 with eight wins in as many matches. All-State team member Chelsey Harmon won’t be back next season, but Kiauna Mack Kiauna Mack 6'1" | MB Rodgers | 2022 WA ’s present guarantees the Rams will continue to excel at the center of the net. The 6’1” prospect had a promising campaign last season, receiving an All-League team honorable mention after registering 88 kills and 57 blocks and will most likely continue on her growing curve in the upcoming season. And you’ll be tracking it since she’s part of the prepdig.com’s class of 2022 watchlist.
Jacqueline Foster – Setter – Senior – Emerald Ridge
Jacqueline Foster guided Emerald Ridge to a sixth-place finish at the 2019 State Championship. The creative and self-confident 5’7” prospect did a fantastic job in setting her teammates up impressive 1,038 times during the set but also contributed to the Lady Jaguars’ success with 53 kills, 26 aces and 149 digs. She received an All-League team honorable mention as a reward for her great play.
