Seniors
Isabella O’Neill (Hawthorne)
O’Neill is coming off a phenomenal junior campaign for Hawthorne. She’s a dominant opposite with her ability to not just hit from the opposite side either, she’s a great back row hitter as well. She finished last season with 234 kills and 77 digs. Watch out for her to be able to sneak into the PrepDig Rankings. She is one to watch, this season.
Kiara Salme (Lyndhurst)
Salme was a part of an all-around Lyndhurst squad where they look to spread the ball around. All in all she still had solid numbers with 96 kills and 148 digs. An opportunity is there for her this season to have a monster year with most of her counterparts graduating last season. Watch out for Salme on Lyndhurst.
Ella Langrehr (Secaucus)
Langrehr had a solid season playing opposite for Secaucus last season. She finished with 55 kills, 108 digs and 99 assists. A huge contribution to her success was her ability to play multiple positions being in the back row, opposite, she was also the backup setter. The question will be with the top setter graduating will she take on setter as her primary position or stay at opposite. She will be successful at either or potentially both this season.
Juniors
Paige Tuozzo (Midland Park)
Tuozzo was a part of a great Midland Park squad but her numbers are a bit misconceived as she was sitting behind several upperclassmen. She still showcased her ability last year finishing with 54 kills, 43 blocks and 15 digs. Now as an upperclassmen herself, watch for her to take on a promising role for Midland Park. She plays middle blocker as well in the rotation.
Daniela Botero (Ridgefield)
Botero is a hidden gem on Ridgefield. She’s a solid opposite where her success is her ability to hit on her angles whether it’s cross-court or down the line. She split playing time with upper classmen last season but still finished with 48 kills, don’t be surprised if she has a big year. She will be able to thrive with Ashley Kuiken Ashley Kuiken OH Ridgefield | 2021 State NJ playing as the outside hitter.
These ladies are lethal on the court and have all the shots. They have creativity with their shots by being able to go cross-court, down the line, cut shot, tips and more. The opposite sometimes goes unnoticed due to the outside but these ladies are leaving their mark and will be difficult for any team to prepare for.
