This next group of girls’ are lethal offensive options. They have all the shots and are creative to ensure their team is able to score. Let’s take a look at the top outside hitters returning.
Seniors
Megan Meehan (Verona)
Meehan was not one who went unnoticed either by having a solid junior year. She will be looked upon as the vocal leader for guidance. As an outside hitter, she finished with 120 kills and 182 digs. Her ability to create angles is what makes her a solid outside.
Danilda Perez Villa (Barringer)
Perez Villa is the focal point of the Barringer offense. She had 100 kills and 152 digs. Her athleticism is what makes her a lethal outside and she is going to be one to watch this season.
Lauryn Cook-Maisonet (Belleville)
Cook-Maisonet for Belleville had a monster junior campaign with 169 kills and 132 digs. She has all the tools and shots as an outside hitter which make her almost unstoppable. Expect her to not miss a beat and have a monster senior season.
Juniors
Christine Infantolino (Caldwell)
Infantolino split the duties on the outside for Caldwell as a sophomore. She still showcased her potential with 86 kills and 126 digs. She’s a very versatile player and has the ability to play multiple positions. Watch out for her this season as she becomes the focal point for Caldwell.
Norah Shaji (Livingston)
Shaji was splitting duties as well and was the third part of the Livingston attack. She still finished the season with 86 kills and 82 digs. Those numbers will surely jump as she will the primary outside hitter this season.
Sophomores
Patricia Rakova (Verona)
Rakova was one who saw play right away as a freshman and made an immediate impact. She was the final component of the three-headed monster on Verona. This presented an opportunity for the team to be lethal on all parts of the court. She had a solid year with 137 kills and 37 digs. Watch out for her to build upon that for not just this year but the next couple years.
Hailey Fouche Hailey Fouche 5'11" | OH Montclair Kimberley | 2023 State NJ (Montclair-Kimberly)
Fouche came in as a freshman for Montclair-Kimberly and immediately stepped in to be the number one option. She finished with 104 kills and 158 digs. She has plenty of room to grow which is scary with how good she is already. Watch out for her this season.
They all have creativity with their shots by being able to go cross-court, down the line, cut shot, tips and more. Watch for these ladies to be battling it out for first team honors but looking to be recognized in the state not just the conference.
