Continue ReadingWe love when setters receive recognition from the volleyball world. Most people see the end result of the kill but they don’t understand how difficult it is to deliver the ball with such accuracy consistently. The offers for our wonderful Texas players keep coming. We love to see the pictures and news of these players as they are achieving their dreams. We are proud to announce some news from the recruiting front. There are three setters who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news. These young ladies have been hard at work during the high school volleyball season and have been also hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have made their decisions. Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.
Emma Becker Emma Becker 5'9" | S Liberty Hill | 2022 State TX [2022] 5-9 Setter/Right Side (HS: Liberty Hill/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: West Texas A&M)
Emma is currently ranked as the 41st top prospect in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. We wrote an article on her earlier in the summer and here is a little of what we wrote, “This kid can fly and bang as an elite attacker. She loves to transition far off the net and utilize that momentum to attack hard. She has really long arms and this helps her seal the net so well as a blocker against the opponent’s outside hitters. She gets up high and regularly has her head almost over the net when she jumps. The reason she is moving up the rankings so fast has to do with her setting skills. She has really quick footwork, which allows her to track down out of system passes and keep her team in the rally. I love her jump set and her soft hands. She delivers the quick set so accurately for her middle hitters. If you haven’t heard of this one, well now you have and I strongly suggest you jot her name down on your list.” We are very proud to announce that she has just recently committed to West Texas A&M. All of her hard work has paid off and now she gets to realize her dream of playing at the next level. This year at Liberty Hill she did a little of everything to help her team win. She padded the stat book with 306 assists, 28 aces, 184 digs, and 193 kills. She is a true threat anywhere on the court. She will definitely be an immediate impact player for West Texas A&M once she steps on campus in a few years. Please help us congratulate her on her achievement.
Mollee Henicke [2021] 5-11 Setter (HS: Goliad/Club: Texstar/Verbal: Houston Baptist University)
Miss Henicke is currently an unranked prospect according to our Prep Dig State Rankings list but that could change once we update the list in a few months. She is a star setter or her Goliad high school team who just went deep in the UIL 3A state playoffs. She helped lead her high school to an impressive overall record of 29-4 and an unblemished district record of 14-0. She earned UIL 3A All-tournament team that was selected by the Texas Girls Coaches Association. Mollee was able to earn Texas Sports Writers Association All State team. She also earned the Victoria Advocate 2020 Most Valuable Player award. She just recently committed to Houston Baptist University and will do wonders for their program the moment she steps on the court next year. We are extremely proud of her choice to realize her dream of playing volleyball at the next level. Please help us congratulate her on her accomplishment.
Joy Liu [2021] 5-8 Setter (HS: Ursuline Academy/Club: Madfrog/Verbal: Bowdoin College)
Miss Liu is currently an unranked prospect according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She is a setter from the North Texas area. She plays for the highly touted club program known for their high level play in Madfrog. She is used to playing at a high level and has junior national experience along with being named to the TAPPS all district team for her play with Ursuline Academy. She has a very soft release and is extremely accurate at every location along the net. This can be attributed to her solid footwork and excellent posture while she contacts the ball. She is almost always in a great position to sling the rock as she reads the ball very well off of the passer. We are excited that she made her college choice recently. She will suit up for Bowdoin College next year and will impact their program immediately when she arrives on campus next year. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing volleyball at the next level.
