The southeast Kansas squad has dealt with COVID related issues and injuries. Here is a look at three of the Storm’s under the radar prospects.
L, Bailey Couch, 5’5”, Fort Scott – Couch, who plays for the Fort Scott Tigers, had 33 digs for the Storm. She plays with solid defensive technique and anticipates angles well. She would be a good fit for an NAIA level program.
RS, Tayven Sutton, 5’8”, Marmaton Valley – Sutton is a skilled hitter who communicates well on the court. She had five kills and three blocks in the SEK Storm’s most recent matches. Sutton has a consistent accurate serve. She will be leaned on by her Wildcat teammates in the 2021 high school season. The Marmaton Valley talent projects as a JUCO prospect.
OH, Aly Ard, 5’7”, Marmaton Valley – Ard is a high school teammate of Sutton’s. The two complement each other well, feed off each other’s energy, and both work hard to be leaders for the young club team. Ard finished with 19 digs, and 7 kills in last weekend’s action. She arguably could have the highest ceiling of these three young Kansas Student-Athletes.
