A setter’s job is never done. You can put up perfect sets and still, no one executes, so it can be tough to identify a solid setter by stats and numbers alone. These athletes were able to push past the limitations in high school personnel and still managed to impress. Here are the top-earning setters from the class of 2021.

Mackenzie Michaels

Michaels directs her offense well, but not without earning a few points of her own. As a setter and right-side hitter for Shawnee, she has been averaging 19.5 assists per game with a season-high of 33 assists over Cherokee.

Julia Calderone

Midland Park has only played two games so far, but Calderone certainly made use of the opportunity. She had 22 assists against Waldwick and 28 assists against Cresskill, both victories for Midland Park.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood is having yet another great year. With Kaelie Chung Kaelie Chung 5'4" | DS/L Scotch Plains Fanwood | 2021 State NJ leading the offense, averaging 22 assists per game, they should be hard to beat. Chung boasts a season-high of 27 assists against Westfield.
