Five Solid Club Performances
One Volleyball Academy’s 15-1 team is a gritty enjoyable squad to watch.
The team competed at the Spring Battle at the Forum in Wichita on April 3.
Here is a look at five players who produced well during the team’s second match of the day. All of these athletes are in the Class of 2023.
MH, Landry Johnson, 6’2”, Andale – Johnson is a force in the making. The middle hitter plays high school ball for Andover. She finished with six kills and four blocks in One Academy’s second match of the day. She is tall and has a big reach. Johnson has a high ceiling and will want to work on improving her quickness moving forward.
OH, Ella Eskridge, 5’5”, Maize South – Eskridge has a high-motor and hustled for any balls in her area. She is a high-quality defender who also could evolve into a high-level hitter. She finished with 15 digs, 11 serve receptions, and two kills in the match I scouted.
L, Sierra Tinsley, 5’3”, Maize – Tinsley is a young libero to keep future tabs on. She finished with seven digs and four serve receptions. She plays high school ball for Maize and has a bright future in the Eagles program.
MH, Elizabeth Foulk, 5’10”, Bishop Carroll – Faulkner is a raw talent who played better in her first match of the day. She did finish with three digs and two kills in her second match. She plays high school ball for Bishop Carroll, an elite program in Kansas, where she will have a chance to evolve over her next three high school seasons.
OH, Joscelyn Buckley, 5’8”, Maize – Buckley is a raw talent who loves to compete. She owns a leadership position on this club team and the team is up or down depending on her play. She filled up the stat sheet with four digs, five serve receptions, and four kills. Buckley could be a six-rotation start in the making.
