Here is a report on five of those Class of 2022 leaders in assists who are entering their senior high school seasons.
S, Catherine Toerber Catherine Toerber 5'6" | S Valley Heights | 2022 State KS , 5’6”, Valley Heights– Toerber unofficially led all juniors from Class 2A in assists in 2020. She finished with 768 assists for the Mustangs in her junior campaign. Toerber arguably could be considered one of the top setters in Kansas in the Class of 2022.
S, Bennie Horsch, 5’10”, Sterling – Horsch is a tall setter at five-foot-ten. She amassed 606 assists setting for the Sterling Black Bears. Horsch also added 167 digs and 104 kills to her 2020 numbers. She will be leaned on as a leader for Sterling in the 2021 season.
S, Shelby Fox, 5’1”, Jackson Heights– Fox is a solid little setter for the Jackson Height Cobras. She might be only five-foot-one, but Fox plays with tenacity. Fox finished with 582 assists in her junior season.
S, Tristyn Kremeier, 5’9”, Herington – Kremeier is a multi-sport talent. She finished her 2020 season with 541 assists for the Railroaders. Kremeier averaged nine points and five rebounds a game for Herington during the basketball season. Junior College volleyball and basketball coaches should give her a look.
S, Lauren Donner Lauren Donner 5'9" | S Bluestem | 2022 State KS , 5’9”, Bluestem – Donner finished with 479 assists during her junior campaign. She can also play outside as he added 51 kills and 108 digs to her stat sheet. Donner will need to be a leader for the Lions in 2021.
