Eighth graders were among the young players who gained valuable varsity experience during the 2020 high school volleyball season.
A look at three Region 2 eighth graders on the rise follows.
Olivia Oakley is an eighth grade outside hitter/right side from University Heights Academy. Oakley is a productive hitter from either side of the net. The University Heights Academy eighth grader is poised for an impact season as a high school freshman. Oakley is athletic and blocks consistently.
Carly Porter is an eighth grade middle hitter from Crittenden County High School. Porter delivers regularly along the middle of the net, blocking well individually and with teammates. An agile middle hitter, Porter provides quick attacks on offense routinely and reads opposing hitters to set up blocks efficiently.
Rylee Springer is an eighth grade right side/setter from Henderson County High School. Springer possesses versatility and the ability to hit from both the front row and the back row. Able to contribute on offense and defense, Springer can run the offense, set and be a vocal leader.
